Madison looks like an interesting event. Sat in the infield with Paul and a few other dudes receiving an outline of how everything works plus a few tips as well. Can't wait to have a fling myself.

Got my handicap for the weekend wheelrace: not enough to stay away unfortunately. Guess I'll have to attack conservatively then try to run with the guns

what is it? and distance?

170m over 1840m. Dale and Brad are off about 80/90. Grant Fraser is off only 95m, so I guess I'll try and tack on to his wheel when he slides by. Or I could be mean and just put him on my shoulder for two laps :D Make hime work for his money.

[edit]The guy I'll be really keeping an eye on is off 90m, picked up Australian Masters Rider of the Year recently and is the current sprint world champion for MMAS3. I'm hoping he's a true sprinter and won't last the distance[/edit]

jeez, Grant Fraser off 95 !!

Speaking of the Madison, we could do some practice on it Tues nights. Shaw has a regular bunch down there training it seems.

Mondays & thursdays are track training nights, happy to extend to a Tuesday for Madison training!

jock 11-30-05 08:29 PM

I reckon a bit of madison practise would be real handy. Tuesdays aren't much good if you dislike errant javelins, wayward discus and random hammers. Thursdays are much better.

jock 11-30-05 08:33 PM

Grant's a real chance off 95. He and richard pettigrew caught me with one lap to go last night. I don't know where dale and brad were, but I managed to stick with grant for a neat 2nd.

massive band of storms crossing the coastal plain from Taree to Kiama ATM http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDN65152.shtml

Looks like Gosford is going to come through it untouched for the second time in two days :D

You suck. No offense. :)

jock 11-30-05 09:35 PM

Sorry Expat, but usually if it looks like rain in Gosford it rains. Lots.

Weird things afoot lately.

Brian 11-30-05 09:46 PM

We enjoyed the hail yesterday morning. And then the attack of the ducks.

no kidding ! Good job for 2nd too !!

OK, so Monday night sounds good. Thursday's I'll break out the shotput, the talc and dust up my lycra bibs for a new Over 35's Adcock Park record shot. :D

Had an interview today, with a freakin' Glaswegian, needless to say we ended up at the pub after it... at 10am :D

jock 11-30-05 09:50 PM

I've never had an interview go that badly :p

jock 11-30-05 09:51 PM

He and his bro raced track on silk tyres and bamboo rims but sadly as I grew up, I wasn't interested in much of what he had done. We didn't relate well, something I'm not happy about now :(

Don't worry about the old fella Berny - he missed that one but he had a few days in the sun to console himself as well.

Happy with the tickets for the Melb cup - back straight, opposite the finish line, one row back from the fence. If I could have an actual pick of where to sit I wouldn't do much better. Mind you, there might only be 50 people there!

Tip for the ticketek website when booking tickets for Vodophone - you can have three cracks at selecting seating. It drops the selections in a 'shopping basket'. You remove the tickets you don't like. First two options the website gave sucked, third one was great.

Yes it does sound like it will be a good move. They have some interesting ideas to make it a 'different' experience. I hope it doesn't effect my sponsorship :D
What do you think of the location?

jock 12-01-05 02:52 PM

The location is prime. It has the highest volume of traffic going past it anywhere on the coast. They just have to signpost it to make it irresistable to every man, woman, and wallet. The inside will need to get a facelift to make it visually appealling too. The current setup is so bleak it would make an undertaker cringe.
