I still remember him telling the AIS to jam it as their training methods weren't helping.....so he went off, found his own sponsors and trained himself (and got anorexia in the process). Gutsy move in the cliquey world of Aussie elite cycling. |

He must've really struggled then when he had his injuries. |
in the Vuelta on '01 O'Neil was in the top 10 in both tt's. I think the highest was 6th.

Not the last man off, but one of the engines like Rich in the saeco express for Cipollini. |

Here seems to be a bit of local racing discussion http://dailypelotonforums.com/ibb/ The dailypeloton has some good discussions occasionally, Mapeifan and Smug are two posters that rival Ed for knowledge. Good forum, I am the resident smartarse. I don't think anyone takes me seriously. :D see Is Simoni a Dutch sea restraining wall? |

My memory is shrinking at the same rate my gut is expanding.....can't recall. Crowey did tell me once on a hurt session out behind Cockatoo that I should be doing a 200km ride at LEAST twice a week...... Err..... |

Gutsy move in the cliquey world of Aussie elite cycling. I had some correspondence with Dave Towle from America, he was managing O'Neil (i think i read he has a new manager) and he seemed to intimate that he was not happy with the lack of acknowledgement that O'Neil gets from the Aus cycling community. |
Anyone know why Mcgee was riding a Specialized in Brisbane crits last month.
I figure he got up too lat in Sydney and could not be bothered bike baggin his Lapierre or he had a problem in transit with it. Thus he borrowed the Specialized steed in Brisbane. What is the potential for a fragile athlete like Mcgee to do some structural damage in a crit with a bike that is fit in haste. He was blocked in his new postion in the 20 km tour timetrial this year. And he often has back problems. Any expert opinions folks? |
he did !
