Nah. Dudint werk. And no copy facility either. Polar must have went all Nazi with their latest software. :(

[Edit] Farkit! It was the software I was trying to paste it into. Copy did work. Just need to find some software that will allow me to paste it as an image and save it. Microsoft Photo Editor don't work. Gah, I'll keep looking. Thanks Jock.

Hokay. Here's some sucky rides. This one is from Bathurst to Sofala, then up the hill out of the river, than back down again. The little spike in the middle was seriously steep riding up it, but doesn't look it there.

Next one is the ride I did today out to Fremantle and back. Annoyed the sh1t out of me since it was never flat.

A mate down in Sydney tells me about riding up the cetral coast and being able to go for hundreds of km with no hills. Wish I lived there. I hate hills. :(

Haha! Go the Knights! Mr. Kotter can take over for me when I leave. Without the blue star, of course. :D

Cheers.

I haven't confirmed with the shipping company yet, but it looks like February 8 is the day. And we'll get to Utah while it's still nice and cold. (Translation:snowing)

Does AU$2100 get you a decent bike? That's what one mob wants to transport the Princess' 7.5kg dog. Robbery, I tell you.

531Aussie 12-30-05 08:28 PM

that IS robbery :(

i think i would be planning an "accident" for the dog. Just buy it an airplane ticket.

Well at least you'll get in most of the seasons cricket. That is a bonus. ;)

As for the pup. Wouldn't work as hand luggage?

531Aussie 01-01-06 12:51 AM

just in case anyone wants a laugh at my expense.....

we played last night in Rosebud, which is at the bottom of the bay (about an hour & a half out of the city), and we ended up getting roped in to packing up the whole PA.

Shortly after we eventually left the venue at 5am (!!!!!!!!!!!), a few lights popped up on the dash (not my car, thankfully); the temperature was a bit high, so we obviously pulled over.

We thought we'd just busted a hose (it was 43 degress yesterday), but the water pump pulley had sheared itself off and was just hanging on the belt!!!!

We told the RACV on the phone that we'd need a tow truck, but they insisted that they couldn't send one out without a service van guy first looking at the car. So, the RACV guy gets there, and the first thing he say is: "mate, you need a tow truck". Unbelievable!! :p

etc, etc, etc, tow truck, yada, yada, yada.......got home at 7:30am!!!!!!!

mrkott3r 01-01-06 04:36 AM

would have been a fun night. then followed by a hot day so you get no sleep.
The heat is unbelievable in Newcastle its still in the high 30's (its 9.30 now) and has been 44 today. Didnt get a ride in today so i'm gonna get up early and get a decent one in tomorrow.

I hope everyone is safe from the bushfires that have started today (especially in victoria and the central cost)

The state's a tinderbox!

mrkott3r 01-01-06 05:40 AM

sure is, but its getting like this every year now, espcially around sydney

jock 01-02-06 03:37 PM

hi kotter, and welcome aboard the 'Thread That Cannot Die'.

Looks like we need to organise a baton change between you and expat before he leaves. So whaddya say to a gentle ride around Newey next Saturday morning if its not raining? Stop at Leo's for melted crayons (read hot choccy) or vile bean juice of death (coffee) and some vegemite toast before heading out to do some hills. Expat lurvs hills. Specially after a big brekky. ;)

jock 01-02-06 03:46 PM

Speaking of riding, first ride of the new year sucked for the most part. Started out late due to NYE stuff, and the wind had already kicked in. Flatted in the middle of friggin nowhere with no shelter from the sun. Nice

After fixin the flat was left with superheated water and gogo juice: blech! So had to ride for an hour with undrinkable bidons and mega-burning feet to get back to civilisation (McDonalds) to get some ice.

Only good point was averaging 71.6kmh on the flat through Rutherford. Gotta love a good tailwind. :D

badsac 01-02-06 03:52 PM

What's gogo juice? And 71.6km/h average? WTF?

Jock, we're way ahead of you. We rode to the lighthouse yesterday. Kotter's a pretty keen kid, and should have no trouble replacing me as the token Newy member. I don't think he likes the hills either.

Cool. He'll learn to love them I'm sure. When I did my training as a lad in Newcastle I used to pick all the routes that avoided the hills. Even the slightest bump was a reason to choose a different route. :D

So we can catch up later on, when the vodafone girls come out to play. I'll do some trackwork in Gosford this week instead, but will definitely catch up before you go.

Just remember that I have to be at work by 11 on Saturdays.

No, those are the latest model of unobtanium wheels. Not only are you not able to buy them, but you can't even see them.

Sport drink, in my case Staminade. As for the fun bit, a cager pulled out in front of me while I was trundling along at a casual ~65kmh. So I had to put things right, as you do when you've had a ****ty ride. Up a cog and into it. Bit of lip as I passed him at 78kmh. I don't recall him saying anything back, on account of his lower jaw was on the floor :D

Settled into a nice rhythm after that and time-trialled it for as long as the wind was helping (tad over 6km). Wah-f'n-hoooo. Wish I could go that fast all the time. It's like catching the perfect wave. Except HR was way over 180 and I'm supposed to be doing base. Ah WTF.

badsac 01-02-06 04:26 PM

Farkin 'ell. I'm staying away from you at the Alpine jock. You're a bludy monster. Pedalling past someone at 80 on the flat? What gearing you got? My poor gummy legs don't like pedalling faster than 50 even down a hill. :p

My heart don't like getting over 140 either.

jock 01-02-06 04:52 PM

53x12, just pedal fast. 140rpm gets you about 80kmh. But I can't do that without some form of assistance coz I'm too old and slow. Hell westerly is majic help.

Brian 01-02-06 04:54 PM

I can hit 50+ on my MTB with full knobby tires, just coasting towards Jesmond. Is Saccy a bigger baby than me?

jock 01-02-06 04:55 PM

I see a poll thread starting anytime soon
