The state of Utah has the highest rate of gun ownership per capita in the US. It's a 3 hour (?) drive from Salt Lkae City to buy a drink. |
Please do. Here's a classic from a while ago (ripped from crikey.com.au)
"A few years back after Chopper Read's infamous appearance on the short-lived Elle McFeast Show ("So we kept stuffing this guy into the cement mixer, and he kept climbing out!") Kerry-Anne's Midday got Alan Jones on to bag Sir Chop Chop for being such a bad influence. The fun started when Chopper actually rang up, and with the camera suddenly pointing to a clearly bemused floor manager holding a sign saying "Chopper's on the phone" he came on air. After a couple of minutes of verbal jousting where he pretty much made Jones sound like a dickhead Chopper got tired of the conversation and yelled out "At least I didn't get arrested in a toilet in London!" Jonesy went white, Kerry-Anne cracked it and cut the call off and the Midday Show's flirtation with hard hitting journalism died." Made bloody good viewing :roflmao: |

Of course, it's a 5 hour drive to Las Vegas, but once there, all your drinks are free. Seeing as how I've had about 7 beers so far this year, I think I'll manage.
Strewth.....I had 7 beers before lunch on Xmas day. |

You really came home with a wet sail there Re-pat, seeing as how you hadn't had your 3rd beer for the year by the end of September. Better ease up, you're well on your way to becoming either an alcoholic or an aussie  09-22-05, 09:47 PM #866 Expatriate Originally Posted by berny.....and I'm the v/proud grandparent of a year 12 grad. cool aye. Jock has too much time on his hands. Yes, I really ramped up the drinking at the end of the year. I have a 6 pack of Toohey's New in the fridge at home. I'll drink them before I leave.
|
Nope. Some things just strike me as odd. Not drinking to an Aussie's normal everyday excessive drinking standards is one of them.
|
In all fairness, I probably had an equal amount of herbal remedy for the year. Ok, slighty less.
|
Whadoyou drink then?
|
Excellent work badsac. Beer sampling has never been string on the Aussie thread
Tooheys Dry is my standard. Crap, overpriced beer but don't get any nasty after effects next day. When I'm really hankerin for a thirst quenching brew its Reschs DA, just one or two longnecks. For something to chew on I'll drink Carlton Draft. See a pattern forming here? I hate the taste of malt, so I have a narrow band of crisp, hoppy beers to choose from. Although free beer always tastes good, no matter what it is. :D |
