The huffy experience...
#27
I remember when I was a kid in the 80's, Stu Thomsen switched from Redline to Huffy. I thought it was awesome, as I had a Huffy at the time. I think I was 12 or 13 at the time. I had always wanted a Redline, and ended up getting a Mongoose Supergoose right around this time - it was my first "real" bike.
This ad brings back some serious memories - the Vans, the pants, Oakley goggles, numberplates. Not to mention that Stu looks like he's about 36 in this ad!

The "Huffy" Stu raced was a Redline PL20 painted white, with Huffy stickers on it. Eventually, they built some custom jobs for him, but those weren't anything like the Kmart machines. They did offer some pretty good BMX racing bikes, but not through department stores. The Stu Thompson signature bike wasn't much like what he actually rode at the time.

eh, I've had my Huffy Sante Fe II beach cruiser since I was 10 so about 7 years. Its held up on many good rides. I did multiple 50 miler trips with others who had better quality bikes, others who actually had speeds
. But at the end of the trips, I was still in the front of the pack and held my own. But I guess its just cause I haven't used any other bike so I worked with what I had. I think its done me proud for so long, so I should me more than happy.
