Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

470 today. I commute 4-5 days a week (18 miles round trip) so this is where most of the miles come from. Only recently have I started adding Sat./Sun. rides (started at 40 miles, now I'm at 62 mile rides).

My 30+ today pushed it up to just over 300 for September, which is not particularly high, but what with the longer nights and the fact I actually had a contract and so spent 3 weeks of the month working, despite the great riding weather… I'm about to start a 3 month contract next Monday - "…boo!" sez I, "…about bloody time!" sez The Bank Manager…

I'll have to check. I think it's more like 250 - 300 though. We took a week off and went to Vegas this month. I normally try to get 100 miles per week.

roughly 700mi or so. I do 135mi/week of commuting, plus a 45miler on the weekends. Sometimes a 60miler. Just depends on how I feel. Actually, this has been a slow month, I took a couple weekends off, so probably a little less.

A little over 300 for Sept. I ride 4-5 times a week but seldom can get in a lengthy ride due to time constraints.

Wow! I racked up 710 over 12 days thanks 1 double metric, 2 centuries and 3 metric centuries. I just would have had to ride 400 miles in my lucky 13th day to catch you!

I continued my trend of riding roughly 1/3rd the available days for the month.

I had 451 miles on 10 rides for September. That puts me a bit shy of 4000 for the year. We had a beautiful weekend to start October and I didn't get out at all.

Need to reverse trend...

Well, that was sort of an unusual September for me. Normally I do my long distance riding (1000K and 1200K) in July and August. But this year my July ride fell apart 400 kms (250 miles) into the ride, and the September one suddenly became my only remaining option.
