What is with all the focus on jerseys, when did you last get a check for driving you ford/wearing your levi's/riding a trek? You don't like looking like a billboard and thats ok but if someone else dosen't have any issues with the logos then that is their decision.

BTW I wear plain jerseys

Milford Bob 10-17-05 01:57 PM

bbattle what is the brand of that 1st jersey. Looks good.

I like the team shirts because I find them interesting and
they are colorful and as mentioned before they stand out
better for drivers to see me.

Can't we all just ride our bikes and get along?

Obviously not. Otherwise, what purpose would BF serve?

When i play Bball i wear a jersey that says "NIKE" on it. Doesn't mean i am Air jordan out there. I wear Chucks doesn't mean i can pass like magic, I have a arm warmer on doesn't mean i can do a cross like Alley I. And when those clothes have gone through there life cycle, what ever is on sale i will wear that onto the court.

I like em plain, too - was considering getting a couple "print on it yourself" jerseys...
I rarely see a one that I like. All too often the color scheme or arrangement of elements on the garment just makes it look cluttered, ugly.

But if I had the spare cash I would have also gotten this, with the assumption I would get run off the road a lot less if I was pimping America.-

That might depend on what state you ride in, here on the left coast that jersey might just get you run over.

Just found this out about plain jerseys. They show stains REAL well.

My favorite at the moment are the more fashionable plain jerseys like the Castelli Simple Jersey. The Assos is sweet but way too $$ for my taste.

caloso 10-17-05 02:39 PM

Those Castellis are sharp. I may have to put in an order with Santa.

I've got to admit that I hate wearing clothes with huge logos and text for shoe companies or whatnot, but I don't mind wearing stuff that supports small companies or causes (e.g., Life Is Good, an MS150 ride, whatever) or favorite teams. If I could find them for under $25, I'd probably pick up a Discovery Channel jersey - they're pretty understated compared to most.

I wear some generic CoolMax stuff most of the time (who really needs pockets for a 25-mile spin?), and I have one jersey, a plain gray Pearl Izumi that I found on clearance. I'll keep checking the clearance racks, and whatever catches my eye will wind up in my closet.

I hope I'm never snobbish enough to care what others are wearing. I care more about whether they're decent and courteous enough to get the hell out of my way and not suck my wheel without asking. :)

Yum, those look tasty. I'll do a search shortly, but any ideas on the best price on these beauties?

I'd be interested in finding a better price if someone knows of one... the long sleeves are all on backorder from Colorado Cyclist.

If you can find Castelli stuff for cheap, jump on it. I know World Cycling Productions carries Castelli gear.

The Italians sure as hell know fashion. That is for sure.

Dont yall have anything better to do than sit around and complain about what other people wear on the bike?

Jeez.

popnfresh 10-17-05 04:15 PM

i guess they don't, theymust be compensating for something or another

frankly, i dont care what you think about my clothes when i ride, if my wearing a pro jersey bothers you, your problem, not mine.

webist 10-17-05 05:50 PM

The only corporate logo jersey I wear I got for free from the company my wife works for.

There is one jersey with a logo which I did purchase and am quite proud to wear. It advertises some outfit called "Bikeforums.net" :D

carlson5200 10-17-05 06:36 PM

I went to the local sporting goods store and bought a couple of Under Armour t-shirt things. Not sure which series of "gear" they are but they fit nicely, wick sweat away, and aren't obnoxious to look at. Plus they're cheap when on sale.

mellowdave 10-17-05 07:27 PM

"I dont wear corporate logos!!! All wool!!! Screw the man!!!making money off my slow fat*ss!! Not if I can help it!!!I only wear superman underoos!!!Jerseys are for posers!!!real men wear speedos (with no logos) and wool t-shirts!!! then they cut the pockets off so they cant keep their corporate fuel gels and powerbars anywhere!! My HAIRY wife makes me raisin power pellets in the kitchen while shes boiling my kids wool diapers and making me tie dyes!!!

The white plain jersey is from Performancebike.com, one of their own. They are good shirts, cheap, too.

The Jelly Belly is by Santini. I got mine at Performance, too.

I agree with the idea of being visible to cars and I think a lot of the team jerseys are cool-looking, too.

cycle17 10-18-05 12:26 PM

I wear what I like. Period! If you don't like it... too bad! :-) I have plain jerseys and I have two nice Trek jerseys, one Team Discovery Jersey I got as a gift... and one USA Red,White and Blue Jersey. They look nice, fit well and have three pockets on the back to store all my stuff in. If you don't like me because of the jersey I wear... that's your perogative. :-) I still ride 200 plus miles a week and love cycling. So what if I'm a little OCP. LOL
