Today, I suppose I could be considered middle-aged. I sure am feeling old. Must have been the Navy. It put alot of miles on me. But today, I turned 35yo. With that said, I felt it necessary to give myself a birthday present. It just so happened to arrive UPS last night. Gee, what a coincidence.
So...
"Happy Birthday, to ME!!!"
mmmmmmmmm................... Titanium.......

You bought some little pink 1 pound dumbbells? Woohoo, rock on! What happens when you turn 40?
Seriously, I'm looking forward to the finished results. We all know you wouldn't dare to ride a dull, battleship gray ti bike. I'm sure the final work will be stunning. Can we have a contest to see who's is finished first: your's or 55/Rad's?

Titanium uber alles! Looks great. I vote for keeping it clean.
I remember you mentioning a Ti frame (and something about obsession). Looks great. Where is it from?

Happy Birthday Patriot... great present. I don't think my wife would be as understanding if I bought one of those next month for my 34th. Then again... I'm new to this biking obsession and she is still coming to grips with it and all the reading/posting on this forum. I should have her properly "broken in" by next year and then I can buy myself a winter build project for my 35th.
Do you have any completed pics of Trinity? Your link in the signature just has the painted frame. I'd like to see some nice shots of the dream machine. Ahh, yes. Bike Pron!

Congradulations on the birthday. I wouldn't consider 35 'middle aged', but I suppose it's all about how you feel. That bike should do wonders in that regards.
However, I'd say your wife should consider herself very lucky that you went for a new bike to build, instead of a porche or the like.

Frame looks great! What's the first step? Are you hoping to be riding it by Christmas?

35...... 13 years ago...
I remember it well... won the club championship and placed 8th in the District 42 senior road race held in LaPlata, MD (8th in an 8-man break...ugh!) that year. My buddy and team mate who I was to lead out the sprint for fell about a mile from the finish... I think I won $85...
EDIT: The more I think about this, I think the year was 1994 so I would have been 37.....

Don't you think you need bigger wheels?
Anyway, I'll add my request of whose frame is it? Also, you painting prowess is well known, but are you really going to do the taboo to your Ti? Maybe graphics, maybe a little half and half (sorry rad), but a complete coat....don't do it! Nude Ti is fly!

I have a few paint schemes in mind, but nothing solid yet. I am still trying to figure out what components and group I want. I am leaning towards Veloce (Chorus would be better), and some carbon ergo bars for doing centuries, but not sure yet.

Happy birthday young man. You are in your prime and have many great years of cycling in front of you. A fitting present to yourself.
Looks great naked as do all beautiful women.

When I was 35 I thought that of being 'middle aged' now that I'm 43 I am convinced that 43 is middle aged. I believe that when I turn 50 I'll be moving the target again. All I know it that when my dad was 35 he looked middle aged now days 35 is the new 25, don't sweat it kid!

Hey, you just don't get it.
I HAVE TO BE MIDDLE AGED!!!
If I am not middle aged, then I can't officially have a mid-life crisis, thus providing me with adequate excuse to spend obscene amounts of my money on titanium and carbon bicycle components. Otherwise the wife is gonna get ticked. I need an excuse, or I'm in big trouble.

If I was fat and slow (present company excepted), I wouldn't have bothered with the curved stays and ovalized downtube to stiffen things up when I need to get the lead out.
