Hey climbo, I read somewhere that arm warmers were recommended for FNWTR. Is that coz it's cold or because of the varnished landing pad?
|
it's freezing inside there, warm-up jacket a must also.... but it may save you some skin too.
|
no Campagnolo? :(

Are Cioccs frame any good?
what's a good condition, 2nd hand Ciocc Challenger (Dedacciai scandium aluminium), with carbon seat stays worth? Bloody light: 1224g with no fork, no bolts, no nothin'......weighed it meself. Is that too light for an 84g masher? |
Back when I was a 70-something kg skinny tire enthusiast, I had a very nice Ciocc. Rode quite nicely too. I also had a Basso, and Duegi shoes. Hard to believe, I know.

Expat's dark secret past emerges from the closet :D

Did I mention the Trek 1200? The little caps with the small visor? I did keep one of those, plus a jersey. There are also some road bike bits hiding in the shed, just in case. Anyway, yes, I used to ride road bikes. Now I'm just fat and tired. I mean I ride fat tires. :D

Is that too light for an 84g masher? To be honest, my next roadie is probably going to be Scandium. I'm a bit fitter and stronger nowadays, and I have to confess, as a 90kg weakling-masher the steelie isn't as stiff as it could be. I think the worst thing about the Ciocc is the name. How the heck do you pronounce that?! I think it's 'CH-eeOTCH' with a soft 'i' - somewhere between 'Church' and 'Chotch'. What a mind bender. Anyway, 2.64lbs is pretty light. I had an Sc road frame for about a week back in the bad old days, and in my size is was 2.8lbs I think. It was frightening. So 2.65 sounds ballpark for your size. As to how much it's worth, I have no idea. What are they new? |

my 1 year old daughter says that, she's hacking up a lung at the time but that's about what it sounds like.

vaguely like de Roasch, only the R is more gutteral and the "eu" sounds like the "o" in potatoes Rosti. . . sure. . gimme a good easy name like Malvern Star. y'all (texan for y'all) are now posting in Part 3. Part 2 is stickied for ease of reference. marty |
You've done a nice job setting the new place up Marty. You've even managed to recreate the musty smell of sweaty training gear! :D

even if not, I just subscribed to the thread, it is now the only thread I see when I go to the control panel, that page is bookmarked, straight to it now :)
If I need to find a my58vw thread for a laugh, I'll have to go back to the main board. |
Purile?

I saw a new Ciocc Challenger frame on special for $2700 at some shop in Adelaide, and I'm sure I can get this one for under $1000 Pronunciation??? I still can't even pronounce "Cervelo". It's still "Kervello" as fas as I'm concerned. I'll never forget the tosser at SBR who said: "don't you mean 'Sirvello'?" What about "Ciombola"?? The guy who makes them wanted to deck me when I said "see-em-bowla". :p I wasn't worthy of one of his frames. |

Yep. It was Cheeok at my place until I was "re-educated". But it's not a word that comes up often these days. |
For some reasons I've been pronouncing it "cock-sick" in my brain everytime I've seen the word.
(Hey, I had to post something in this shiny new thread) |
