thanks! i added the fenders begninning of the month. they work fairly well, and they go on and off quick.

i usually ride my trek 520 outside when it's mucky and grimey... but i've got the lemond tuned to comfort... and am getting spoiled with the ride - so i've been washing and waxing.


i'm actually thinking about selling off the 520, my cyclcocross bike, and my mtb to pick up another lemond - i'm thinking steel or ti.

Hey BillyD...the bike is a Sarthe 06. It comes with black tape but my LBS swapped the tape for yellow. The seat post was too far back so they swapped the carbon fiber one for a Thomson center mount post. Unfortunately the front chainrings drop the chain constantly and the front der. rubs the chain. The LBS has tried really hard to fix it but the next option they are trying next week is Ultegra chainrings, and if that doesn't solve the problem a full Ultegra crankset is the next try. Either way, I can't complain :)

the paint looks even better in person than on their website or in that picture (low resolution), the black and yellow is sparkle paint (is it called metallic? not sure).

Duh ... plain as day you said sarthe, originally! Somehow I missed it.

And it's an '06, small wonder I never saw that color combo before.

Here's mine for now! 2006 Tete de Course frame & fork, most of the rest (Ultegra groupset, Race Lite wheels) are from a 2004 Victoire.

Here is my '06 Sarthe with upgraded Ultegra triple crank, Bontrager Race lites, Brooks Team Pro, Conti Grand Prix 4-Seasons, Time pedles. The shifting with the Ultegra triple (FC-6603), F & R der. (FD-6603, RD-6600-GS), 12-27 Cassette (CS-6600) and CN-66 Chain is flawless and as smooth as it should be.

Here is my brand new LeMond Reno! I have done nothing to change it except take off the reflectors nad put some Look A3.1 pedals on it. I will eventually flip the stem, but that will not be until I get some saddle time and my butt gets broken in!

i was never really into LeMonds...didn't like the blandness of them. after this post though, i'm really feelin the classic look of them! especially that half carbon looking , metal and blue one.

I don't have any pictures of my bike at the moment. I bought it used from a local shop, the owner (of the shop) said the frame is about 10 years old. All it says is "TI 3/2.5GL" I like it , seems very light (esp compared to what I was riding before), but I don't know a whole lot about road bikes yet.
I'll try to get a few pictures of it to share...

Part of what appeals to me about LeMond bikes is that they lack the garrish colour schemes that some other marques have. The green with white on my 2002 alpe d'huez is recalls some of the Raleigh colour schemes from 30 years ago.

Here's a picture of my LeMond after the Valentine's Day Alleycat race. Don't mind the brake cable - I didn't get around to cutting it after I switched out brakes.

Oh, just so you know - 10 minutes after I took that picture, I took the bike, minus BB and headset, completely apart for an overhaul and lubing.

Here's mine. 2002 Nevada City. Last "budget" Lemond with the 853 frame.

I could not agree with this more. I should be picking up my Etape tomorrow and my first pre-ride impression of it was pure simplicity. One color, two colors, DONE. My other ride is a plain black Triumph Bonneville. I do like to keep the color schemes simple.

here's mine, it's jut gone on e-bay today (reason I took a pic of it). I was going to re-paint it and use it again, but I have other plans now + I have a steel Pinarello for the smooth ride.

I'm so envious of this Zurich with the Fenders :eek: :eek: It looks like such a purposeful machine, made to be ridden all day long, rain or shine. It spits in the face of techno weight weenie Bikes, designed only for looking at, made to sit in the garage until, that one fortuitous day, it's owner decides to take it around the block for spin, or to the local Java shop ;)

Love it, I'm inspired!

BTW, I love that Scarthe with Record and Eurus wheels as well!

The fenders pop on and off quickly, It's not perfectly clean, although I do care for it and give it TLC on a regular basis... Next month I'm building a new set of wheels for it - saving money for a Schmidt Dyno hub on the front - to add lights that are not battery dependent.
