EURO 02-12-06 06:58 AM

Race 2

My first race of the season is still delayed in results but it's looking like 5th or 6th

Yesterday I came in 6th out of my category, with the race won by a guy with a world's silver medal on the track. Nevertheless the pace was quite high.

That gives me 8 or 9 nine points after 2 races. To reach the top 1000 I need to get 40 points before September. I've 20 other races on my calender at the moment.

I think Mayonnaise might help the headgear go down better

Keep hammering Euro. You're my (cringe) hero!

baj32161 02-12-06 07:13 AM

Keep it up EURO!!

link to website with results?

Congrats. Are these crits or RR's?

fifao 02-12-06 02:59 PM

Nice job. Your result begs the question, though, "6th......out of how many". I'd like to assume several thousand for your sake, Euro, but how many were competing?

Keep it up.

Warblade 02-12-06 03:09 PM

fifao since he's racing in the higher catergories (1/2/3 - which one Euro??) they are most likely to have atleast 50 people in the peloton.

fifao 02-12-06 03:11 PM

Hmmhmmm, so placing 5-6 still is pretty impressive.

What cat are you Euro?

(and don't tell me that I should know already, please)

But then you'd know who I am :) Once I hit the top 1000 the facts will be verified by trusted forum members.

First three races of the season are 'crits' on purpose-built circuits (common here in the UK). Then I move onto a combination of road races, circuit races and three or four stage races.

60 or more in the race, I don't know how many 3rd and 4th cats, probably at least 40. In my experience, getting points is no easier or harder the bigger or smaller the field. The good guys always turn up. The extra numbers are usually made up of guys who hang on for dear life and then sit up in the sprint.

I'm a 3rd Cat, these races are open to Elite/1/2/3/4th and Juniors. The 3/4/J are scored separately from the E/1/2's.

Euro, you could win the Tour de France and you'd still be the Weenie King.

And it's only fitting that if we are to have a King, he be British.

patentcad, just playing with Euro here. As I said in his earlier thread on his first race, we all do wish him in his racing program. I'm sure he gets it by now :)

Starclimber 02-12-06 06:56 PM

Good job, dude. I rode a completely pointless metric century today, first one in...in...uh...a hundred years. No, that can't be right. I can't remember. 's on me.

2Rodies 02-12-06 07:11 PM

Your first race results are still not in? Whats going on over there, haven't you Brits heard of computers? I had the results from my TT 30 min after we finished. 75 man field not including the other 300 riders where competing in the other cats. BTW how about a real race report not just a "I finished here" post.

55/Rad 02-12-06 07:31 PM

I'll concede right now that you will make it to the top 1000 and get this done with.

Congratulations - I can't imagine what it feels like. But then again, it's not important to me. Now that you have that under your belt, let's reexamine who you are.

Just as I expected. Nothing different. Too bad, given all that time and effort.

At least no one can say that success has gone to your head - those qualities apparently already having been there.

It is interesting that a person with the name that can't be uttered, finished 17th out of 20 in a race yesterday, according to Britishcycling.org.

Triguy 02-12-06 09:11 PM

Euro, way to be man... Sounds like you'll hit your goal.

CardiacKid 02-12-06 09:46 PM

2-4-06 19th of 33 finishers.
