so much for anonymous identity

They are just speculating that Euro is Ben Cousins. I've seen both of them post though, and frankly - they act a lot different. If Euro really is Ben, he's done a good job of hiding it by creating an alter ego.

blandin 02-12-06 11:14 PM

Cyfac sure makes fine bikes, here's a nice example of a pretty blue one and it's proud owner . . .

Well since the jersey Euro is wearing in this photo is a Kingston Wheelers jersey it does'nt take a genius to figure out who Euro really is.

jbhowat 02-13-06 12:25 AM

Uh oh. Well hopefully Euro won't disappear.

Which was posted AFTER I made my comment, dip****.

That said, some people need to learn it generall extremely bad form to do this kind of "internet detective" stuff and exposing people who want to remain anonymous. Its actually grounds for banning on several forums.

55/Rad 02-13-06 12:51 AM

At least it's clear from the photo why he has his bars so high. ;)

EURO 02-13-06 03:39 AM

I'll concede right now that you will make it to the top 1000 and get this done with.

Congratulations - I can't imagine what it feels like.
Too right, you don’t have the strength of characteror the balls to aim race bikes. To you, it’s just a silly old man’s hobby like golf.

But then again, it's not important to me. Now that you have that under your belt, let's reexamine who you are.

Just as I expected. Nothing different. Too bad, given all that time and effort.
I love the idea that you think I'm, expecting some kind of personal revelation or personal development from doing a few measley bike races.

Here’s the facts. You were stupid enough to doubt me. You were wrong. You’ve been proved wrong in the space of two races. You actually said you didn’t think I had the strength of character to achieve such a piffling result (40 points in a season…. Something I’d stated several times). You are a terrible judge of character. I hope you don’t make these kind of mistakes too often.

EURO 02-13-06 03:44 AM

Yesterday I came in 6th out of my category
For those who don't read posts. The race was won by a guy with a world championship silver on the track.

cmcenroe 02-13-06 04:25 AM

Congratulations. I am sorry that your secret identity has been revealed to us regular folks without secret identities. No shame in 17th overall, I am not a racer and I can only imagine what kind of training one must endure to be competitive. You've nothing to prove to people on the internet, its just fun and games.

how does posting results work in the UK? Here results are posted usually within a half hour of the end of the race, anybody that wants to has a few minutes to contest them, then they become final and the pirze money is paid. You know within a n hour of the race finish your official result.

dolophonic 02-13-06 08:26 AM

You played yourself....ak ! mentirosa....

Nice to see a good looking bike in action. Look forward to the pictures when you take it up the Alps!

iamtim 02-13-06 09:07 AM

And here I thought Ben was only a sourpuss on the forums. Check out that grimace.

"Must... place... high... enough... to... prove... bikeforums... posters... wrong..."

*shaking head*

Still a tool, top 1000 racer or not.

plin 02-13-06 09:27 AM

Euro is actually out there racing which is already a lot more than what a lot of BF members claim.

He made claims about his riding abilities like time up Alpe d'Huez that checks out according to his race category.

He is provocative and nasty when challenged. But aren't we all?

Cut him some slack guys. He is just a dude riding his bike.

blandin 02-13-06 09:35 AM

"Cut him some slack guys. He is just a dude riding his bike."

I think not. A dude just riding his bike would be eagerly supported by the forum and there are any number of racers here that fit that category and whose efforts are appreciated and encouraged. This "dude" has been arrogant and dismissive in most of his exchanges. So I guess it's true that you reap what you sow.

Well explained.

I don't see any of us here getting a kick out off criticizing some cat3 racer's plans. Many of us do have real racing experience and regardless we support them all.

We do certainly enjoy Euro's presence here for several reasons, and I've said this before - wish him well in his racing effort, but he does invite a lot of the criticism by his generally condescending attitude in his own postings. That and his lightly veiled disdain for most things American.

CyLowe97 02-13-06 09:51 AM

Shouldn't this post be moved to the Road Bike Racing sub-forum?

Oh yeah.... not as many people read that sub-forum, so this nastiness would not have ensued.

I, for one, think EURO's racing aspirations are admirable and it's cool to keep up with BF'ers who race. However, I also think EURO knows anything he posts will get this reaction from everyone on the regular Road Cycling forum.

I can see it now.... EURO posts the following.... "2+2=4" Incredible chaos and nastiness ensues.

This is either funny or pathetic, depending on your ability to understand that this is the internet and not the New York Times.
