If this is really you in your avatar... you're face is as angry as what ever it is that eats you up inside and it makes you such a sour person inside and out, you'll be lucky if you don't end up with cancer someday from all this bitterness and then... this fighting in a forum about what you need to prove to everyone won't matter much, will it?

1. I haven’t made the top 1000 2. I hate you all, why would I boast to you? I’m just proving the doubters wron Hate comes from anger towards someone euro.. you just gave that info up yourself, so stop pretending you don;t care for this forum. If you didn't... 1- you wouldn't spend as much time as you do on here 2- you wouldn't feel "hate" towards anyone.. admitting to feeling hate is admitting that someone got to you and hurt your feelings.. which caused you pain and now you feel hate. Guess you're human after all.. |
Not trying to bash the U.K. Lord knows we have more than our fair share of Stuckeys and Waffle Houses. Spongedad Stuckeys still exist?!!! Man when I was a kid my dad would load us up in the ole station wagon and we'd just drive all summer. I remember seeing Stuckeys everywhere. The still sell that nougat log thing? I think that ate right temperature that log thingy could be used to make fiberglass boat hulls!!! |

You're clearly a noob: you're using logic and a sensitivity to human behavior. Common mistake. Still, I think you've neatly summarized the issue. Now back to English food. It's my theory that the paucity of good UK eats led directly to British maritime supremacy. Basically, it was all an effort to get some decent food. "Screw steak and kidney pie - I want Indian food or some decent pasta. Bring the frigate around." |

Guess you're human after all.. Think it goes more like this: Ben-euro has above average intelligence but has low self esteem....kind of like a computer geek that writes a virus but not quite that smart and in Ben's case the virus he spreads on the internet is the written word. Not entirely his fault of course. He didn't receive much of any love at home from his parents...that is if they stayed together, nor was he much appreciated by his peers in school. He grew up therefore angry due to lack of acceptance while he scoffed under his breath at others for not recognizing "his brilliance" which he believed about himself in compensation for his self loathing. He is above average in cycling but just barely and works quite hard at it which evokes both a love/hate relationship with the sport and those like us that "don't appreciate his talent"...sound familar?...because of his desperate need to be good at something and gain respect. He treats people badly because he views life that way which is reciprocated and self fulfilling and the chronic cycle of pain repeats itself. I wish there was a happy ending but unless he makes a conscious effort to change which is very difficult to do, there isn't a lot of hope. The pain of cycling is a metaphor for Ben's life. Love is the only replacement for anger and lack of self acceptance. George |

One of the original ones is in Burbank near NBC. We would head over there for lunch sometimes when I was working on the lot. My dad always had a station wagon. In the 60's we had a Rambler in 71 he bought a Chevy Kingswood with reverse facing third seat. Man sitting back there watching a big rig coming at ya was pretty scary when you only 9!!!! We had all those decals on the rear and side windows from all the places we'd visit every summer. Man those were some good times!!!! |

Stuckey's is still out there: www.stuckeys.com So is Big Boys' www.bigboy.com although I don't think they use the statue of fat kid anymore. I used to get the Shoney's Big Boy comics from the restaurant when I was a kid. Stuckey's with the pecan log is still around but it seems Cracker Barrels are sprouting up all over. With lots of tacky nick-nack junk shipped in from China to sell in the front room. Southern food is a cyclist's nightmare. It's either fried or deep-fried. And if there are any vegetables that sneak past the meat and french fries, they are boiled for several days before serving. The way to cook greens is simple; heat up some olive oil, garlic and maybe a tablespoon of bacon grease("seasonings") then toss in the greens(spinach or turnip) and stir around for just a few minutes. Remove and serve with some vinegar and Tobasco, a big chunk of cornbread, and some black-eyed peas or purple-hulled crowder peas. Don't forget the onions with the peas and some sliced tomatoes and a pitcher of sweet tea. Collards need some blanching first but it's not necessary to leave them in a pot of water all day. Chinese food around here is drowned in peanut oil. If you ask for steamed rice instead of fried, they ask you two or three times to make sure you aren't lost or confused. For Race #4 I'll regale you with my recipes for barbequing meat on my Big Green Egg. |
By the time EURO cracks the top 1000 we should have quite a menu going!!!
|
I'm drinking a Hansa right now. YES! Right at this very minute. I doubt it will last long, but then I planned for that and made sure I bought 6 of them. Funny thing is they all came in the same package. I'm going to call it a 6-pack. Christ! I should register that. BRILLIANT!

Some one who is new to the forum and perhaps to cycling, sometimes spelled "newbie".
