notes on a napkin..cranksets
" great bike, you should change out that heavy crankset"
" go compact, lighter"
" carbon crankset would look cool there"
ok, I have an FSA Gossamer ISIS, this "fat" crank is 625g, and the BB is 185g. hmmm... 810g total...I really don't need compact.
FSA SLK Carbon mega exo: 825g, heavier.
Truvativ Rouleur carbon >820g, same with Raceface
ahhh..but the K Force FSA carbon is 460g, but complaints everywhere about delamination and other quality problems.
see here
there's this:
Which is cool.
Campy ally is all the same weight or heavier, except the goofy-expensive carbons and I'll need a square taper BB.
Is there a reliable carbon ISIS crankset worth the effort, or is this just bling?

Granted, I'm using the Mega Exo version, but I've been really happy with the FSA SL-K's. I'm a 195# rider and they're nice and stiff.

from what i've heard fsa is always way off in their crank weights. for some reason the listed weight is often much lower than the actual weight (but never over, big suprise)

FSA is accurate to within 1%.
My big concern is FSA carbon reliablilty.

the K Force Mega Exo weighed in 15% heavier than the original claimed weight. And actually weighs the same or a few grams more than an AL D/A crank (depending on which listing you go with).

I'm using the same crank and so far I have no complaints. My previous crankset was Record. FWIW I'm 149lbs (and dropping).
