Congrats..... I love my Habanero!
Hence your avatar?? Actually, I do feel a smidge "guilty" buying a non-USA made frame...but an equivalent custom Ti build from a reputable USA framebuilder would have easily cost 2-3 times as much as the Hab. I have not taken it on any "real" rides yet (just around the neighborhood since the streets are full of salt and gunk) but so far it's all good. |

I felt a bit guilty as well....but so many others are also made outside the usa....Plus Mark was awesome to deal with....and the price was incredible. It allowed me to afford better components! I have had mine 14 months....have over 5000miles on it.....still loving it! |
What, my faux lugs? They seem to be a paint or vinyl coating of some sort. I would leave it around the BB area but interested in removing the rest. I think it would look alot better. Just wish I knew for SURE if its possible without it being a PITA or worse.

Bought this on ebay for racing this season, so I don't beat up the Waterford too badly:
http://www.cagefreefilm.com/images/tuscany002.jpg Painted ti, and if I wreck the paint, ok. 9 speed Ultegra for swapping out stuff with my 9 speed DA. Ksyrium SL, which I hope I like. It's a 55 and I usually ride 56, so I'll probably need a longer stem. Real pics when it arrives early next week. |
A very similar (almost identical) frame to the Tuscany above, this is my 2004 Litespeed Solano.http://velospace.org/files/litespeed_black.jpg

I was going to post this new (to me) bike after getting some pedals, etc. Since the thread was up I might as well join the club.

My "budget" Titanium is a size XL Planet X: http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/?page_id=1288
The frame is made by Lynskey and the performance exceeds expectations; http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...ictures009.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...ictures013.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...ictures012.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...ictures005.jpg |

Well I got rid of the old wheels, the carbon surface never really braked that well (i.e. at all) in the rain. The mavic's are a little heavier and beefier but I literally haven't ridden the thing in a year. Hoping to get back into the sport this summer.
Old: Attachment 140581 New: Attachment 140580 Now the only thing is, should I remove the decals or not... |

Beautiful. |
Can anyone tell me what this is? It is a Merlin obviously but the seller doesn't know the model or age of the frame/fork. Thanks guys.

Looks to me to be a 90-91 Merlin. 1in steer tube and post grease gard bottom bracket.
Back then Merlin only had two models. The basic model that had no name and the Extralight. The Extralight had larger tubes and different geometry.
