Because the frame came in a terrible state since it had been used by a cycling pro and was painted in team colors. Five years ago I had it painted black with white decals so now I decided to go the other way round.

Indeed, Rossin only made steel frames at that time but Rooks (1988 TdF King of the Mountains) needed something lighter. Like many pro riders in those days he had a light carbon or in this case titanium frame camouflaged as a team bike.

WOW.....any idea why Lynskey changed seatpost diameters?

I have a 2009 R330 with the larger diameter post. I wonder if they are selling off old inventory of oversize posts???

I think they changed the seatpost diameter for comfort reasons.
I think it started last year when bike Basics became the new importer for the Benelux, Germany.
Those frames had in 2011 already 27.2 mm seatposts.

Lynskey helix is a very nice bike.

I saw one for the first time last month built with full Dura Ace/carbon wheelset...I immediately changed my draws when I got home.

The Helix is a masterpiece. I don't care if the twisted tube is a gimmick. You can have the frame as an art piece in a house.
