Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice looking build. I really like the drivetrain choice.

Love everything about this bike except for the blue bar tape. Brown leather would be excellent. Looks like a blast to ride in any situation.

Now I gots one too! The titanium bastard:

1990s Performance TR1000 frame I picked up recently, finally transferred all the parts from my frame-damaged previous road bike last night. Did a hard ride in to work this morning, and boy was this thing smooth and responsive! Noticeably stiffer than my previous frame as well! Not as shiny/well equipped as many of the bikes on here, but ostensibly American made and all mine! Hopefully will have this one for a long time, hooray for fatigue limit!

Just bought this 59cm Lemond Victoire for $600. Mint condition. Appears to be all original. Does anybody know what year it is? Seller says 2000 but I think it's a 2001.

According to Bikepedia, manufacturing on that bike started in 2001. Picture looks right also. 2001 LeMond Victoire - BikePedia

Bikes: '85 Puch, '95 LeMond

1995 Lemond

Clark Kent built - spoke with builder, Ivo Vinklarek. He verified from serial number, he welded the frame. It has a badge on the BB shell "Ltd 1995" "12/100". He asked me for some dimensions, features and photos. He said it was the "best" model - FAT 7/8" chainstays, seat tube gauge & integral (welded on) seat post clamp.
There is much information "out there" about C-K - dates of demise around 1995, but I'm very confident that even though this has the "1995" on the badge, this is one of the good ones - PRE-decline (NICE welds).

There are MANY, MANY super nice bikes on this thread. I have a couple that Tom Kellogg made for me. One road, and a steel forked rando that fits 32's with fenders!
