Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone ever bought anything from Ben's Cycle & Fitness? I am looking to buy a Fizik Arione Titanium Special Edition saddle in red and black and they have it for 112.95 plus free shipping. I am a firm believer that if it is too good to be true then it usually is, this seems too good to be true.

I have never bought anything from them, but others on this board have spoken highly of them. Try a search and I am sure you will find lots.

They stock a lot of the "retro" 1980's style bike components I like. They know bikes. Phone them and verify they have the item you are looking for and ask them your questions.

I've made a few purchased from Ben's through their ebay store. Great prices, fast shipping, no problems.

I've also bought from them via eBay and was happy with the results.

The Waterford bike company even makes a frameset specifically for them, which is a pretty good endorsement.

I've been in that store many times and used to ride with some of the guys. I have no problem shopping there. Their store is in a sketchy part of town, but has been there for something like 50 years. The son bought out the old man (Ben) a number of years ago, then bought the old theater across the street that they use as a warehouse. They have a TON of nice stuff and are very helpful. One of the few bike shops left in the old style with wheels and bikes hanging from the ceiling, the basement jammed with old stuff, and employees that use what they sell. Spent quite a bit of time helping my friend set up his son with gears for junior racing and getting his license. They have a HUGE ebay operation.

I recommend them.

I bought a Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow from thier eBay store. Good exchange, great price and fast shipping. The only thing I didn't really like was that they shipped the saddle without a box in a padded envelope. There was no shipping damage but if there was, it would have a PITA to rectify the situation.
