Important idea
On a long ride today (as I was losing brain blood to the legs) I realized that with all the new bike materials, why hasn't anyone made a bike out of adamantium. It'd be unbreakable, and the chain would never stretch. Of course, the stuff is toxic, as Wolverine discovered.
What other materials should be used to make bikes? :p LOL. |
A little anxious for X3, are we?
|
A frame made from Kwai Chang Caine's Pebble???

bikes, bikes, bikes . . . topic back to bikes

Don't think Adam Ant would be impressed if you tried to make a bike out of him.

I want a refined plutonium frame. Then you all will KNOW when I have a catastrophic failure.
|
We must make a bike out of...
... the moon. :p |
The OP should be banned and have "dork" tattooed on his forehead. I wonder what character you dressed up as for the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars movies.

I want a bike made out of Unobtanium, so I can get into the OCP club.

Mithril steel. As an added benefit it would also be +1 against dogs and cars.

i admit that i haven't bought a copy of x-men since 1986, but since when is admantium toxic? :o
|
I think Transparent Aluminum would work best. I'll check with Dr. "Bones" McCoy as to the feasibility of a T.A. frameset. Heck, a 1" thick sheet of the stuff held nearly 1,000,000 gallons of sea water and two humpback whales in the cargo hold of a Klingon Bird of Prey. And withstood the force of travelling through time by doing a lap 'round the Sun. I think a properly fitted T.A. bike could support my frame while bombing down some hill.

adamantium, unobtainum, transparent aluminium.. all good. |
On a serious note, has anyone come across a bike made from Reynold's aluminum-lithium X-100 alloy?

Az plus, it glows when SUV drivers are near. |
I'd like to see the exploitation of a precise ratio of dilithium crystal, tritanium, and mentadent.

I once saw a man who was riding a bike made of bamboo. Apparently, if you get the right kind, it's just as strong, light and flexible as aluminum. I wouldn't want to see the result of catastrphic frame failure though. At least aluminum doesn't come apart in spiky shards that could puncture my dangly-bits.
|
The bamboo bike is made by Calfee. To be OCP, you'd need a coconut bra and a grass skirt!
