Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well glad that is clarified. I don't want to think Martians are invading when I see little green woman ridind a bike.

P.S. reference to little greenman from mars.

At the risk that any comment will brand me a sexist pig, but I have to agree. your bike pic isn't bad, but of the off the bike pic is way more flattering.

What defines a hot roadie chick, anyway? Don't you have a sister you can ride with?

I almost always notice what kind of bike a women is on first. I'll go...oh...nice Serotta or whatever brand...then I might say..."Oh...she's cute."

Most female cyclist's are in TRI, i see a mixed group of them out on their aero bars every now and then around here. As for pure roadies, even at races there's only like 5 maybe 6, vs the 50 or 60+ combined male rider's.

If you look at the girl before you look at the bike, you're not a real roadie.

OMG this thread is insulting. It has never occurred to me to whine about the lack of attractive local male cyclists. Men aren't meat. Yet so many of them want to put me in that category. Thank you Dr. Pete and pelontonracer for showing me that some men actually think with their brains.

Uhhh....I think my wife would disagree with that comment....

She isn't in her gear to look cool, she's in her gear to kick some butt on the bike...

I really think some guys need to pull their heads out of their butts and get a grip on reality...

I was just going to say that we have some great women riders here, they look great too. We had 4 women out of 20 riders on Saturday. 2 were 'hot road lasses' in full team kit with speed and strength to spare.

If you guys want to see women riders, go to the local road and track races you will find plenty.

Hey! What about me? I think with my brain also! I was with DrPete on page one!

How can you find any of this crud on the internet insulting anyway? Its not actually serious, is it?

Did I miss another meeting? Didn't I get a memo again? I hate it when people change stuff and don't send me a memo about it.

actually, they tend to encourage a proper shoulder turn, as opposed to just swinging with your arms. works for Phil Mickleson and Colin Montgomery

Sorry - I left you out. My apologies.

Anytime it's thrown in my face that many men would prefer it if I had skipped the ivy league education in favor of a boob job, I get a little insulted.

Iim guessing you're more interesting with the education than the boobjob.

Can somebody explain the memo from 'nother in the Northern California office?

Evidently these "brains" I keep hearing about interfere with the body's humor response.

Seriously for a moment I don't think anyone suggested anything like that. I know I can't think too goodly, but I am pretty sure the idea of "eye candy" is just an expression of admiration for the human form. Some folks are okay with indulging those thoughts but obviously not everyone can handle it.

Oh please. Women do exactly the same thing you're seeing here, except they are quieter about it. Get all upset and offended, sure, but realize that a huge section of your gender do it too.

That being said, looking for hot roadie chicks is stupid. All the hot bike chicks are in the MTB world.

I dont think normal people think it's offensive to be looked at by the opposite sex-I mean I guess the Talaban has a large problem with it.I ride 20 miles along the beach trail.and see lots of pretty girls mostly runners, some skaters, some moutain&cruiser riders,a few roadies.I'm there to ride but I enjoy all the beauty of the beach. If I just wanted to letch, I'd come in the afternoon when all the bikinis are out.
