Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

POSSIBLY the best bike for the money!

Well i just bought this and recived it a week later. This bike i compared and compared to bikes with these components to bike $1200+

https://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2007-ROAD-RA...QQcmdZViewItem

Bike feels very solid. Carbon fiber fork is a very nice addition. Very good entry bike
. Only thing i did not like are the clip pedals and seat. Things i plan on buying are a new seat, carbon fiber post, and carbon fiber bottle cage. Wheels are very straight and true. CaneCreek brakes feel solid not squishy or underpowered. Crank is FSA grossman (if i can remember) is very nice and stiff. OVERALL i would like to see another bike for the money compar to that. PLEASE reply, i would like your comments on what you think.

BigDon...as long as your happy with it...that's all that matters.

As far as the "best bike for the money" thing...well...let's just say that's a matter of opinion and leave it at that.

Isn't it interesting how many people show up to brag about their wonderful new bikes (or products) here on bike forums as their first posts. They never sought advice, offered any help, or even introduced themselves, just came to tell us what a wonderful product they've discovered.

Isn't it amazing?

Maybe they sought advice by just reading other posts. I doubt that the person bought the bike then all of a sudden had an urge to find a bike forum and show off his mysterious bike. Just my 2 cents.

twahl... I hear you. I read lots of good reviews, talked to no less than three people here through PM, had several phone conversations with Sal, BRian and Chris at Leader..and rode a Leader bike someone locally had, before ordering the frame package and building my new TT bike which I'm totally thrilled with(new thread posted today BTW). While this OP has bought a decent bike and is happy with it. You're right...for his first post...I would have chosen something different. Like I said, "BigDon...as long as your happy with it, that's all that really matters."

Good Luck to you...now get out there and ride!

Good point! Could be, or he bought just one of the many they have flying out of their warehouse at breakneck speed.

There was one yesterday that posted about some new front mount child seat...no less than 4 times in a couple of different subforums...first time poster. Just hard to swallow. I'm all for sharing, but this post has a challenge to go find another bike this good for this much money...just like the eBay ad.

BigDon-
Congrats on the new bike. There are alot of bikes out there that are not mainstream that are nice to ride. Your bike is no exception. The only thing that matters is that you like it and will ride it. Now go ride, you earned it!
