Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Its not about freaking out over things its just when you saved and spent this much money you expect things to be done right. The frame looks great, I was planning on riding tomorrow but that will have to wait.

You guys seem like the pefect crowd for a question about these frames. I'm 6'3'' w/ long legs (38" crotch - floor). Is the 61 cm frame gonna work for me? Top tube looks ok and I know I can get the saddle where I want it but what about the bars? Will they be too low?

Also leaning to the RS frame for the extra stiffness. I know this is a pretty general question and I should get professionally fit, blah, blah. But what's your gut feel? Will I regret buying one of these frames?

Wow, those are long legs. I'm long-legged too, but shorter than you (5' 9", 34.25" cycling inseam). In general, the RS is good for people like you and me, as it tends to have shorter toptubes and longer headtubes than average, although this varies by size and I haven't looked at the 61cm specifically. You say you think the toptube length is good for you, and that's the most important measure. Depending on how low you like your bars, I think it would work, but you might need a flipped or maybe 90 degree stem. That's my 2c anyway.

Hmmm...Doesn't that (1305 grams) make the frame / fork combo actually a little lighter than the posted weight? Good news!!! Unless I'm mistaken with my math.

Anyone getting their frames faster than DHL's estimated delivery date? Just curious....

If it looks like this, it's apparently intentional (taken from another thread here and, yeah, I know that's the right side):

I am 6'3". I don't think my crotch to floor is that long (do you have a torso?), but I have a 61 cm. Send the measurements to Ming at PF, he'l recommend something. But my guess is that you'll be fine with a 61 cm; you may just have a little more seatpost showing. To that end, please do not show a picture of your exposed seatpost in here or you will get ridiculed or chastised for having long legs and needing the extra seatpost length.

Thanks, appreciate the advice. Are you part of this group buy? Asking because it seems like the RS is a better choice for big guys if there is less flex. Never considered my legs that disproportionate - my pants inseam is 34" and 34" waist.

Got my frame today (from the Group Buy). Oh okay, re: the inseam. I wear exactly that size pants inseam also. You will do fine with a 61 cm. If your arms are not longer than average (mine are; wear a 37/38 shirt size), then you could do a 110mm or 120mm stem. But at this stage, consider getting a professional fit. Find one that is inexpensive because you will find that you end up tweaking the fit to your liking after a while. They run anywhere from $50 - $150+. But you could DIY with a friend or significant other.

As for flex, put it this way, I have a PF QS2 frame and I don't notice any flex; it could be that I'm not calibrated for measuring "flex." The claim is that the RS is designed to be stiffer than the QS2 .. on looks alone, it does look stiffer, if that makes any sense.

Another quick question I ordered a sram group, I only got one cable housing and am missing the crank bolt...Are these supposed to be in the set? I can pick them up if they arent but I just assumed that they were. this is the first time that I have ordered components direct so sorry about the stupid question.
Double check your packaging materials, mine was taped to the bubblewrap......

I asked PF, and they said I could return the fork no problem.

They also said that component orders placed after 2/15 will ship late next week, for those like me who ordered late. I'm just surprised they got the frame out so quickly!

Kudos to PF: my order has been a bit of a pain, as it was initially for someone else, then switched to being for me and I've had to swap around a lot of my component order. They've been friendly and professional about it all.

Ok. I guess chances are it isn't lost. I get leery when stuff doesn't get updated for days. I recently had a package sit in Oregon for 5 days and then all of a sudden it got delivered.

The last update says "Transit through sort facility." I'd rather see "loaded on truck".

If it makes you feel any better, mine doesn't even have the OH sorting facility listed... ...and it's headed out west.. I guess that's the difference between DHL and FedEx, huh?

My frame and fork just came exactly as ordered, no logo, new logo on fork. Frame and fork are perfect, what a deal we got.

I did notice the dimple or hole in the carbon right where the chain stays meet the down tube, and started to freak until I saw the picture above has the same dimple. Must be related to the manufacturing process.

Time to build!
