Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't let them you get you down R600!

You were totally in the right, and should lay down the law whenever you feel slighted or aggrieved. Don't stop letting everyone here know whats up either. They're just giving you flak because they're envious.

Keep fighting the good fight!

R600DA, most people try to avoid dog ****, you almost seem to enjoy stepping in it.

The original post is the best. Ever. Cannot possibly be for real. Now must find malted beverage(s), sit in the comfy chair, and proceed to enjoy what looks to be like 100 subsequent posts of people poking the poor, caged animal with sticks. Cheers!

Today I was out on Shoal Creek for my semi-bi weekly intervals... I was doing a Chris Carmichael sponsored and patented Power Interval at 6.785473% above my LT, power 513.53467 watts, speed so great that my vision was blurred. Tire pressure was at 118.654 Psi, shorts black with blue thead (small piece of lint adhering to the shorts directly over my massive quad), jersey grey, fresh pressed and perfectly fit. So here I am powering down the road when along comes this obviously inferior Fred.............. And then I rembered that I actually have a girlfriend so I decided another type of power interval was more urgent for today.

Guess what speedy? I have a $5000 bike and NEVER race, NEVER calculate watts. I ride because its fun. Probably what these guys were doing. Funny thing is, while you are sitting here complaining, they are all laughing at your ignorance.

...........you need to ride your bike, have a little tolerance for people who are less than yourself, and shut your mouth once ina while. People like you make this sport look bad.

I caught up to him near the foot of a .25 mile 5% climb. As I rode ahead of him and noticed the color of his helmet straps and I was determined to teach him a lesson. We both approached to the foot of the climb and I was determined not to change gear. I have my power output set to 400w. roughly 19 mph. I glanced back at him and to initiate the challenge. He took the bait. He was slowly closing in to my wheel. I stood up and dropped down to my 13th gear and just blasted it up at 19 mph. Unless he has been racing, there is no way he could match my speed.

I definitely recall offering to put up money last year if you would race r600durAss (but can't find the post, damn). I knew my faith in you was well placed.

Here's a classic originally posted by ViperZ

And here is the greatest series of posts ever (see post 400 or so for the final gutting).

This business is ridiculous. Talk about overreacting. I mean, riding in NYC can get hairy, sure. Doesnt mean you've got to mount a jihad. Ease off the steroids, meng.

The best part is Mirona's very first reply to the original post. Oddly enough, it applies to R600DuraAce just as much now as it did then. The reply was:

Apparently he's on prospect peloton too now..

Hey, you guys have to keep your perspectives in check. I was out in
the PP doing my 2 hours subthreshold workout. One of your guys on a
LiteSpeed was dicking around in the middle of the road near downhill
section. This guy was making a U turn onto my left while I was
passing him on the right. I called him stupid because he was being
stupid. And riding stupid. Then what? He mouthed if off like I
offended his honor. Gee. What happened afterward? A guy on a
Walmart bike with a front basket trying to ram into me when I came
around again. He wasn't even close and I am used it dealing with
morons like them because I commute to work in NYC. Watch your ass and
don't do anything stupid.
Did you guys forget about the dude with a front basket trying to ram
into me? If any of you related to this guy, tell him not to ride in
the park again. Why? If I do see him, mostly I would since I always
see him on Tuesday, he is going down. With your LiteSpeed friend, I
will make sure I would say "hello" to him.
It does not matter. This Litespeed dude was dicking around no faster
than 10 mph in the middle of the road. I was passing him on his right
and he freaking looked like he was about to make a U turn onto my
left. I saw his front wheel and he was riding a pair of Kyrsium.
Then, his buddies, I think he is Ricky or the beast, asked him
"which one which one." You guys don't own the freaking park. There
are ****load of riders and racers who are faster and better who are so
happened to train in the park as well.

Someone is going to track that boy down and teach him a thing or two if he keeps mouthing off like that. Serious.
