Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just want to know if any of you are using or have used the specialized toupe team or gel saddle? I have the stock saddle that came with my bike and after about 20 miles i start to feel sore and yeah i do wear padded biking shorts.

I have one on order. I am using a Specialized Alias right now...and I like it...it's just big and bulky and kind of funny looking. If the Toupe is half as comfortable then it will be a keeper.

I've been riding the Avatar and Alais for over a year now, and they're My Saddle. Just picked up a Toupe, and its inaugural ride was a 65mi sufferfest in Moab. It was comfy and firm; My arse was a little sore near the end of the ride, but that's easily attributable to the almost month off prior to the ride than the saddle. One thing I did notce is the nose is a touch longer than the Avatar --for part of the ride the saddle wasn't completely in-line and the nose rubbed on my right thigh. So make sure it's straight

Just switched from an Alias to a Toupe Gel. The use of the term Gel is almost comical as it really is a miniscule amount. I have had two rides on it, a 15 mile jaunt on my normal nightly loop and a 53 mile club ride, I was happy with it on both of them. Being a firmer saddle I did have a little bit of butt pain but that will go away with time and I had ZERO numbness of the boys.

I found the Toupe Gel to be harder than the Toupe Foam. Not sure which one I like yet.

I have an avatar which was nice, and I just recently got a toupe which is GREAT!! i was amazed at just how incredible this saddle is. I also have an alias 130, but i haven't ridden it yet... it came on my wifes bike and I immediately swapped it out. Felt comfy enough when i was test riding the bike.

love the toupe(non-gel).

Toupe = most liked saddle around. I agree. It's hard to find a complaint. They are a bit firm. But if you ride regularly there is zero problems with this in my experience.

After having not found a saddle I liked in a couple years of riding, I decided to try out a specialized saddle based on the good reviews they'd gotten. My previous saddle is a WTB Rocket V, their nicest saddle. While it was reasonably comfortable it never fit right. I've always had problems with numbness. I'm not an especially big rider at 160lbs.. So I bought the avatar gel saddle after I sat on the butt-o-meter to determine width of sit-bones. I've put about 20-30 hours on this saddle and I've been farely happy. I noticed more pressure on the sit bones, but that means less pressure on my soft tissue. I need to play with the tilt more, as I think it's a little flat for my riding style. It's the most comfortable saddle I've ridden to date, but I feel(lack of feeling) like there's still room for improvement.

I have an Avatar 155 and I can stand about 3 or 4 hours on it.

Went from an Alias to a Toupe. Put the Alias on a beater bike that I rode for the first time in a month yesterday. Compared to the Toupe, I couldn't figure out what it was that I liked about the Alias. When riding the Toupe, I simply never think about the seat. I like it a great deal.

Saddles are wonderfully personal choices. What works for one may or may not work for others.

That being said I love my Toupe. I have tried many, many saddles over the years and this is one of my favorites.
