Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You are correct in that it is a manufacturing process. However, eliminating the presence of voids in carbon laminate structures is a given. Trek was just clever enough to give it an acronym and people think it's some sort of voodoo. There is no new type or "style" of carbon fiber created via this process.

I never said OCLV wasn't a marketting term or that it was exclusive to Trek. Nor did I say that the type of CF created this way is new. It is another method for creating CF structures. Yes, there is more than one.

No, you didn't say that. You said that it creates a type or style of carbon fiber, which could be misleading to those not familiar with the common manufacturing practices involved with CF. There is plenty of misinformation on this subject already on this forum.
Sorry, I just wanted to make sure there was no misconception concerning your statement...

Right. I think we are in violent agreement here. I was trying to make note of the fact that there are very many different types of CF.
