Here's my mutant 2011 5.9 now that I've pretty much got it set up for the year. Just got the Williams System 30 wheels for it this week. Waiting for clear roads to get it out though. Until then the LeMond Zurich handles the road duties. Bike is a warranty replacement for a broken 2010 4.5 so it's got the heavier components from the 4.5 on it. Weighed in at 19 lbs and 13 oz when first built up. With the heavy Brooks saddle and SSR rims replaced I dropped a tad over two pounds. With the bag and cages it now weighs in at 17 lbs and 13 oz.

Small, I depend on "wife" support most of the time and normally just worry about having the cellphone with me. Still it will pack a tube, CO2 inflator, patch kit, and phone if needed.

Thanks for the info, exactly what I needed. Saddle color looks great on there, also let me know how you like those wheels after some miles.

Thanks, in real life though the blue is to dark but matches my LeMond Zurich well. Got the saddle used to see if it could replace my Brooks. If I decide it can I'm going to order a new one with a different blue that will match and then put this one back on the LeMond. Getting ready to take the truck out and check my riding route to see how clean it is. We got about 20" of snow Friday and Saturday. But if the roads are dry I may just take this out. I've got a another post about the wheels and will update that when I get a full ride on them.

We got significant snow here again too, it's killing me The roads are bad enough with the studded-tire mountain bike; road biking's out of the question, and another storm system's coming through too...

Rear derailleur shattered and took out the chain stay.
Yeah, I had the MB with studded tires out the past two days. Just drove my route and there's too much crud on the roads for me to take out the Madone. But the LeMond is heading out for another 50 miles or so of abuse as long as I can take the wind. It's about 18 degrees with 10 - 15 mph winds so I may quit early.

Yes, OCLV Carbon. I'm not the Trek expert, but I believe the 2010 5 & 6 series Madones were made in Wisconsin. I think all except 6 series now are made overseas, but the 6's are still made in the US. You can't tell from the pictures, but I upgraded the handlebars to 46" carbon blades from Bontrager. I have a 50" chest, so the wider bars make my ride a lot more comfy. Now, I'm looking to put a better Saddle on there, but can't decide if I want Fizik Aliante or Specialized Toupe ( see thread in the Clydesdale area ).
Thanks for the compliments... I do love my bike.

I will have to go over and look at that thread. My Madone 6.2 came with an Affinity RL. I have only been able to put about an hour and a half on it in one outing so far but am really impressed with it. I can't wait to get outside and really ride my new bike.

Hey everyone with a 2011 Madone, just wanted to give you a heads up. Careful tossing it in a trainer, as it will eat the paint up in the area of the skewer lug on the drive side. What we have been doing with our club and our indoor boot camps, is taking a nut or a couple of washers to push the lug further away from the frame, this way here the receiving end of the trainer doesn't come in contact with the paint. This is definitely happening on the CompuTrainers, and I am sure it probably effects all trainers. All that happens is you lose paint around your rear drop outs. It is aluminum and not carbon back there so no further damage is done.
Anyone looking at getting a 2011 Madone, look at the Rage Red paint scheme in person, by far the hottest color I have seen on a bike, just my 2 cents

As for my trainer CycleOps I had some problems with mine in the trainer as far as the rear de-railer moving and was sent a different Action Bolt. But maybe the washers would be a good idea. Have any pictures of your after work.

I couldn't tell if your was rage red or not, not to flame your photo skills there, but the pictures didn't do that gorgeous color any justice
Next time I am in the shop, I will get a picture of some of the 2011 Madones that are on the computrainers.
In that last picture of the rear drop outs, the part that was getting chewed up was that upper ridge just above the skewer lug.
That picture doesn't even get the rage red in all of its glory either, but I took that with my droid
Another thing I just noticed too with your setup, without having a certain amount of space above your stem on the headset, whatever the smallest spacer is, you could possibly be voiding your warranty, as the specification via Trek is to have at least the smallest spacer on top. Just an FYI, and only if that fork is full carbon, which I believe it is on that bike, and not where the top tube is aluminum.

As for my picture ability you are probably right. Not the best pictures. Here is pics of my Action Bolt up against my frame. The action bold does not touch the frame but only the skewer.

Oh, you are fine then with that setup. The CompuTrainer part will go all the in under that lip. You have plenty of space, even when out of the saddle going side to side a little.
Yeah, that last pic shows that color, frack it is so hot dude, I love that color. One of the guys on the team just did a project one with a midnight black and rage red color scheme. Oh my it is so hot.
Only way I know about that stem deal is because one of the guys on the team works for Trek and he was telling the club/shop owner about it last year.

The last pic was taken with my Droid. Funny how the Droid showed the color better. One of the reasons I picked the Rage Red was due to just about every 6 series Madone in our area is the Yellow and Black. And now having it in my home I am very happy I got the color.

My 2011 4.5: When I bought it my LBS had some 2009 RXL wheels in stock and made me a good deal to trade up. Since then I've put on Dura Ace 180mm standard cranks, an Ultegra 12-23 cassette, Dura Ace chain, a Bontrager Affinity RL seat and R2 tires. Current weight is 17.7 lbs or 8,030 grams with Speedplay Zero pedals, cages, and Duotrap computer.
