Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I also noticed two things about that thread.

1.) It was BP (Before Pcad). Of course, I didn't read every post so he may have squeezed in a comment or two, but it certainly wasn't a Pcad-fest.
2.) There was a time when botto actually used , and smileys and interacted with others in a congenial way.

This thread does not pre-date my presence on BF, I was here for over a year when this was first posted. Didn't notice how old the thread was until you mentioned it.

Do you recall responding in this thread at the time? Was R600DuraAce even on your radar back then? Did you ever meet the guy?

This is an old classic, but why couldn't you let the past rest? I'm actually surprised that this thread didn't end with a Mod lock the first time.

Bikes: Yeah, I got a few.

One of the legendary BF threads... Back when I was but a newbie to the world of BF (and largely to cycling).

There certainly used to be more bizarre characters... RyanF, Patriot, that guy who would lecture us on how no one needed STI shifters (or was that Patriot?)....

Whatever happened to Patriot, Cypress, and BlondDuathlonGirl? Speaking of classics, does anyone know where the thread in which Cypress's girlfriend insulted Ryanf is? That was really funny.

This one and 'We're going to yell at you' thread among others are old classics that will forever be preserved...and bumped periodically.
