The oldest
So today was my birthday and yes, I did ride my age in miles today. I am 41 and was able to get a 52 mile ride in today. Well today got me thinking. Just who is the oldest BF member who is still riding a decent amount of miles. How about it guys and gals......how old are you and are you still active on the bike?

That ride your age gets harder as you mature. Well done but The distance is what I would expect from someone that gives me a few years. Now do it offroad and see what it will be like in 20 years time.

I'm an old guy at 62 and did about 3000 miles this summer, incljuding a couple of centuries. No offroad like Stepfam though - my bad back can't handle a DF bike and bents are no good for offroad! Oh to be in the 20's again...........

Robert Gardner is 85 and was riding about 2,000 miles per year with his left leg amputated amd a bum right knee.
He still posts.

Age 68. Last week I rode 195 miles - with my long ride at 84 miles. This week I will ride a 92 miler. I'm getting ready for Tour de Tucson at 109 miles on Nov. 18. In Tucson, there will be lots my age or older who are much faster than I.

I'm lucky my birthday usually falls on good weather (August in Michigan.) I did 52 miles on my 51st birthday this year. So while I'm not the oldest one riding his/her age, I'm working on it.

I will be 67 next week, I ride about 4,000-4,500 miles per year.
But, I am young. Zonatandem and his wife, in their 70's, ride their tandem like crazy.
Will Dehne (65) rode across the country in 25 riding days (out of 28 days) this summer.

59, 2852 miles total YTD on the way to 3000. Just starting Tri's this year (did 2) have cut my bike mileage this year due to swim and run training time.
BTW - Happy birthday, mines in June, did 120 miles of KATY trail in Missouri on that day.

Thank you DnvrFox for the write up. I am thrilled at the recent interest in bicycling. I ride in the vicinity of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Getting on and off the bike is the most dangerous part of my ride for taking a fall. Though I must admit that my current reason for riding is for my health, however I think it should be for just the joy and freedom that a bike gives you. Everyone I talk to today says they ride for their health through the exercise it gives them. That’s too bad because biking is so much fun. I still feel a bit of the thrill when I start my ride, but at the end of less than an hour my legs say no more.

I'm 52. I'm at about 7K miles for the year and should get to 8K by the end of the year. I also commute by bike and have done so since the 1970's. Two weeks ago I rode more than twice my age (111 miles) and and on my last birthday I rode a sub-5 hour solo century so I guess that I still ride a bit.

I'm 59 and ride 6000 miles a year. 5 or 6 centuries, including a solo century (114 miles) a couple of weeks ago. Also ride in the AIDS/LifeCycle -- SF to LA --585 miles in 7 days.

Along a similar line, my dad skied 60 days the year he turned 60. His goal was to ski until he was 85...but he only made it to 81. Two years ago he passed on on his last run of the day and was found unconscious on the slope by the ski patrol. They airlifted him to Reno where he spent a week in the hospital with a concussion and 2 broken ribs. Recovery has taken a while but he's still active, walking and going to the gym every day and riding his bike around Stanford campus 2-3 times a week. No more skiing though.

My old man is 73 and keeps on riding. He was commuting on a bike all his life - 30 km a day - and he just keeps going.
I am only 42 and started to bike year ago; my longest ride was 4th July WOD trail Purceville to DC and back again - 92 miles

I will be 51 in January. Since April I have put in 1200 miles of my bent. Longest ride so far was 83 miles. It was supposed to be a century, but some how messed up the route. I was riding in honor of my sister-in-law who is going through Chemo for Lukemia
