Is that your blog? Are you referring to yourself in the 3rd person? The real question, though, is what did you have to dial it up to in order to drop LA like an OMG poseur? Perhaps he was exhausted from a recent R600DA encounter and not feeling 100%?

Something tells me Lance could balloon up to 190lbs, not ride for a year and still dump any of us on any hill like we're towing a piano. Just guessing. Ditto for the rest of the UCI peloton.

All the great ones eventually refer to themselves in the third person. Success corrupts and all, you know. However, that is my fellow blogger, Mr. 60%. Oboeguy == platogrande .

Patentcad, let's (generously?) assume that an out of shape, 190lb Lance can still crank 400W at threshold. That means a 150lb cyclist would have to crank ~315W to stay even (ignoring bike and gear weight). That's not out of the realm of possibility.

That NYC air is starting to fry your brain. Take a long vacation : ).

I'm only there once a week or so, it doesn't effect me quite as much. It will get worse once I start racing in Prospect Park, then it's the NYC air + the second hand pot smoke on that little hill. By lap 8 or 9 the entire peloton is getting a contact high. If they ever tested the PP winners for marijuana, they'd all fail for that reason.

I wonder if Lance gets tired of people flying by him at their LT while he's out on a pleasure ride, just so they can say they passed lance.

Did you say hi? Nope... because apparently you think you're better than him now. Does this mean that Lance shouldn't have said HI to anybody for the last 7 years? He was better than all of us after all...

Did you think Lance could come to The City and NOT take a spin around the park?

I just really wish that LA would head out there in full Disco kit in a really, really bad mood, and come across R600DA trying to drop him because he thinks he's an OMG poseur. I'll pay $1000 to anyone who photographs R600 puking on the side of the road in the aftermath.

He is from all accounts 180 or so. That's nearly 20lbs heavier than his weight in prime racing form. But he is still ripped. My height and weight are similar to Lance, and I can go between 163 and 185 and still look trim if I'm cycling, lifting weights, active, etc. Under 170lbs I start looking very thin. There are 5'11" people who are more like 140-160lbs too. So weight does vary quite a bit for people of the same height. I don't start to look overweight (in clothes) until I'm over 200lbs (been there, hopefully never again).

All the great ones have nicknames that begin with "The"

I'll do it for $100.
Wait, you're a doctor - I meant $2000

The blogger (not oboeguy) could've passed Lance on the hill as he was going in the opposite direction. Just sayin'.

I see the persistent delusional factor is alive and well in the amateur peloton. Dreams die so hard. That makes their death throes all the more ghastly - and of course, entertaining.

EXCELLENT.

I don't get why Armstrong would bike in NYC. Presumably the man could live/bike just about anywhere.

He was just on Conan a couple of weeks ago. Maybe he decided to stay a while.

lance lives in malibu and i see him all the time riding with mathew mconahack. i like to sprint right pass them and then turn elsewhere so they can't see me recovering from my sprint. sometime i will sit upright with no hands on the bar prior to passing, as if 30 mph upright is in my casual low hr zone

This isn't the first NYC Lance sighting that's been brought up on this board.
