Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Note to mods: keep an eye on this one, sockpuppet tendencies does he display.

It is a part of the unspoken, selectively applied rules. You are only allowed to know the unknown rules after you have violated the rules that you didn't know in the first place.

It is common sense. What would be the purpose of a ban if the person could just come back under another name?

The moderators and admins have to put up with alot of sh*t from members. If someone was banned, more than likely they deserved it. I've owned and moderated forums in the past with 1000's of members. It's no easy job, no matter what you think. You basically lose your opinion and babysit all the kids you never wanted.

Chipcom is exactly right. Also, it seems like some of Botto's biggest critics, (dog hair, operator, etcetera,) are just as obnoxious, just not as funny.

They would put up with a lot less sh*t if they were more consistent.

Sorry we don't do a good enough job for you. We'll work harder. After all, all the gratitude makes it such a pleasure.

Just so you know. No matter what we do someone is not going to be happy about it. It is definitely a no win situation.

All great points Chipcom. We're like one big happy dysfunctional High School. Whose going to get thrown out of the locker room naked today?

Do you want to be the project manager? I think this is a great idea, I just need a dozen or so members who can help put it all together and help manage it. I created a wiki for projects just like this... anyone interested, drop me a PM.

Not that I am aware of. Regardless, I didn't even know he was banned until after it happened. Good try though.

If you can find a link I would appreciate it. I generally enjoy his photoshop work, plus I am extremely hard to offend.

You really don't need a project manager or a dozen people. You need someone with 5 seconds of time to post it. But the problem with rules is that no one follows them if they are unenforced or are enforced selectively.

Even better: Have this text come up with anybody's first post. Or have it displayed in a manner that makes it conspicuous. Honestly, the first time I saw this was just now as I clicked on the tiny link under your post.

Harrassment
Harassment occurs when a member insults, attacks, and denigrates another member at any time. We have zero tolerance for taking an argument about a any topic to a personal level. For instance, the use of terms such as "idiot, moron, stupid" and other derogatory terms constitutes harassment. The idea is to make this a pleasant environment to discuss cycling, not a schoolyard, or name-calling and rock-throwing festival. Repeated critical and sharply negative posts toward a forum member can also constitute harassment.

Disruption
Posts which intend to disrupt the topic of conversation or steer the topic away from the focus of the forum and related news. Disruption can include harassment, multiple user profiles, multiple posting of the same post and posting completely off topic messages. Please do your best when it comes to grammar, punctuation and spelling. Excessive use of "AOL'ese" and "hAx0r" talk can be very disruptive so please keep it to a minimum.

Vulgarity
As a community with a diverse variety of members and readers, we ask that our members to post without using vulgarity. Vulgarity not only includes vulgar language and pictures but also sexist, racist, anti-religious and homophobic language which may offend other members. In addition, the "masking" of vulgarity by inserting * or another keystroke in place of one or more letters in a vulgar term is unacceptable in most cases.

Solicitation
Refrain from using BikeForums to advertise your site, items for sale, commercial services or website. You may attach a short link to your site within your profile or signature.

Spamming
Spamming is the multiple posting of an identical or similar post on one or more of our Forums. Spam is also flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, often for dubious products, get-rich-quick schemes, or quasi-legal services.

Copyrighted Material
You may post links to appropriate articles but posting articles from other sources in their entirety is a violation of our Forum Guidelines. If you must repost quotes or sentences, please credit the source.
