Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm rockin team crank bro's. egg beaters on one bike, smarties (or is it candies...i dunno, the $50ish pair) on the other.

to the person with speedplays considering switching to mtb shoes for walking comfort...I wouldn't. mtb shoe fit is much looser and for the rare chance you'll need to walk in your shoes, you'll regret the loss of tight fit.

Wow. Lots of love for Shimano and Look. Maybe I'll consider one of those for my next pedal.

Other.....I have a pair of Wellgo(Look style) on my bike....they work great and I haven't had any issues with them at all....I do however have a brand new pair of Keo Classics waiting for when I upgrade the bike(who knows when).

Just bought the new Ultegra 6620's! Replacing the old 6610's and giving them to my wife since she wants to go to a clipless pedal. Wider platform for increased power transfer and a stainless plate rather than the old plastic.

Look Delta. It's the best road clipless design available(for 20+ years).

How much more power do you feel you're transferring with the wider platform?

I don't know what planet you shop on -- or what MTB shoes you have experience with -- but I've tried several MTB shoes and *none* of them fit any looser than road shoes. Check out the Sidi's or the Specialized; the fit is as tight/stable, the sole is as stiff, and they're as comfortable (especially the Sidi's) as anything out there.

Just switched from SPD's to Speedplay X5's.

So far I love them, but I haven't really logged some serious miles on them yet.
