You can't argue with those facts....SMACKDOWN!!!! (And BTW, for those that have to sully their mac's, you can run XP on an iMac dual boot if needed.)

And even with all the other advantages of the OS, Mac's don't have registry's the achilles heel of all Windows based systems. You plug it in, turn it on and it works, each time, every time, no crashes.....ever.

Now go eat an apple everyone.

Mac and Shimano.

Mac by choice-- and there really is no other choice as far as I'm concerned. I use a PC at work every day, and the thing is constantly getting bogged down with adware and spyware-- to the point were it becomes almost unusable. Life at work is a life living in constant fear of whatever may come next, and living in reluctant anticipation of the day when we must reinstall our operating system.

Doesn't Microsoft recommend reinstallation once per year if not every six months for XP? I've never had to worry about that on the Mac.

And to the point of missing software titles for the Mac platform: other than games (and even that is changing) there is nothing I wish I could on my machine but cannot.

It just works and it works very, very well.

Shimano (Ultegra) because it came with the bike. I like it very much, but I've never used Campy. Is there a difference?

^^^ That is so wonderful.

I know I have a PC, but the more I've had it, the more I think I would prefer a new MAC. It's a good thing I only use the PC for surfing BF and shopping.

PC. Campy.

PC world is open
Bike world is open: and I chose Campy.
Macs are closed.

Do you mean open/closed to constant virus attacks? Or is it open/closed to constant headaches?
Or, may be, open/closed to daily crashes? And why not open/closed to the ires of monopolistics behaviors from Microsoft?

The Macs I am using are surely not closed to smart and reliable hardware design, nor are they to well thought out, efficient, and reliable software.

Please explain this often used old trick from the otherworld, I still have to get a clear answer to it.

I hate PC with a passion and especially Microsoft Windows, love Macs new commercials; I hate Shamano (in my mind that's spelled the only way it should be spelled) and love Campy, but would rather ride on Suntour...which I do.

How many personal computers do you have in your home? I have 4 PCs and 2 Macs. I think it's good for my kids to become familiar with both operating systems, along with the Nintendo DS and Xbox 360 interfaces.

DiscoStu 04-20-07 08:46 AM

Oh, I think we know who the Xbox is REALLY for! ;)

I keep a PS2 here solely for when friends bring their kids over...

scrapmetal 04-20-07 09:03 AM

PC and Unix desktop at work, company Mac laptop for travel and to work from home.

Bunch of PCs at home for internet, wife, kids, one is a dedicated iTune player in my shop.

Love Macs since OSX showed up, was a die hard PC before that.

Mac Laptop
PC Desktop
Mac Desktop
Shimano shifters/drivetrain
Campy (Fulcrum) wheels

Like many BF posters, they're just tools.

With a passion, eh? There are important things out in the world to spend your energy on, you know.

I think it is better for kids to go outside and play.

Fortunately, my wife abhors computer and console games. We make sure the kids get out for a lot of physical play outdoors. It is sweet though when my 6-year old daughter makes me a clay model of a M-26 Pershing Tank for my birthday. COH fans will know what I'm talking about.
