Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My two are still just frames, since I can't afford to build them yet. 20XX GMC Denali and 199X Fuji TruTemper, which is getting the rx100 group from my Nishiki Prestige... and I don't know what I'm doing with that. I'm trying to shrink my collection down to two or three bikes of each type I have, already down to two beach cruisers and three mtbs, two bmx, and a hybrid I want to make in to a ebike.

Yep. Since 1964. They're pretty amazing, too.. and get a lot of attention at events!
I was skeptical at first as there aren't many dealers (but they're working on that), but once I rode one, I knew I had found the bike I'd been searching for!

I go back and forth between my bikes. This is my main axe out on the road; I won't subject it to roller or poor weather duty in the winter though. My rain, rollers, foul conditions bike is a Colnago Classic that's newer than this.

Out of curiosity, what would the issue be on the rollers? .....or is it the possibility of dumping the bike while on the rollers?

I sweat a lot riding inside, even with a good fan; I don't want to subject the original paint and old Super Record components to it. I don't want to jinx myself, but I haven't come off a set of rollers in a long, long time. Maybe because a set of Mel Pinto Cortina rollers with a folded towel underneath for resistance was what I started on. That, and/or the roller races every winter with the big clock hands at the local pro shop. I said all that and I'll wind up crashed tomorrow morning

Currently I'm on a Bianchi Campione from '91, men's frame, but I just bought a Raleigh Marathon from '85 and am in the process of building it up, hence joining this site!

One of mine

My 2014 Orbea Avant MD40 I purchased new in 2016. 30 mile ride on it today riding with a friend. Nice day for a ride south coastal Delaware, mid 60s with a mild NE wind.

Hi, here's mine, a retired team bike from the 2000 season. Built up by myself for my birthday recently. Campy Daytona gruppo and Zonda wheels.

Here she is, untrimmed steerer and not my final saddle / post choice.

This is my baby from an insurance settlement. The kid that hit me wanted to pay me with paychecks so his dad wouldn't find out. From the police report I talked to his dad and the insurance company cut me a check in 3 days. This pic is from 3 years ago.

Sorry I didn't realize the light was blocking the brand. It is a Trek CrossRip LTD. As is/was, it is perfect for comfortable commutes or trail riding. I ride with a rack and panniers now so the rear feels stiffer. On some days I'll take the bags off and ride on the unpaved paths along the river or take it up in the hills for some hardpack/sandy rides. It feels more secure riding during winter with wider tires than my original commuter which was a Trek Portland.

2016 Trek Emonda

As I showed on a different thread, here's my Emonda. Only thing that are still original on it are the handlebar, frame and fork. Everything else has been upgraded and changed. In a few short weeks, I plan to replace the handlebar too. But I do love this beauty. I got a little slack due to the side mirror. I will tell you, here in Los Angeles, that little guy has saved my butt more than once.

I also use a bar end mirror (different brand) but I have found it to be indispensable riding on the road.

Got the bike painted recently. I don't think I had posted a picture of it. Just simple blue and white. Sometimes less is more.

Just picked up a 2010 Wilier Triestina Izoard with Ultegra group set from a local mom and pop bike shop.

Took it out for the first time today.
