Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sweet collection of bikes for a host of applications. Could you share your impressions of the Topolinos on your Litespeed? Thanks for sharing your pics.

Thanks! I just wish I had more time to ride. In regards to the Topoloinos...I recently purchased the Litespeed. It came with 2 sets of wheels; Topolino and Cane Creek (forgot model) - I have only put on a couple of hundred miles so far however like them alot. They are light and absorb shock very well.

Possibly directions. I've taped some to my top tube once for an "alley cat" race.

yeah its a 34x32. the reason for that is cause i'm training for newtons revenge in july. the crankset for the race is actually a 22-32. so yeah i guess i'm just doing lots of climbing and im using that crankset and gearing so that i can climb and keep up on local rides.

IMO, anything ride-able for $200 is a good deal. I might re-wrap the bars with some new tape, loose the dork disk, find a better saddle and eventually invest in some clipless pedals...but that's just me.

Enjoy.

hey, the tape in the pic is actually brand new. Its nice real cork. Ive also removed the dork disc and wrapped the rear triangle in black electrical tape. lol i cant stand too much green (unless its in a backwood). I am also planning on replacing the tires and possible buying a brooks saddle, but im not exactly sure if i want to spend >$100 on it. Are there any good racing saddles for ~$50? Also, i will eventually upgrade to clipless, but then id have to also buy a pair of shoes. So the cages are sufficient for now.

The tape might be new but it does not match the bike. Go with black tape and a new black saddle. And please put that handlebar is a correct position! Otherwise it's a lovely bike, more 1990 than 1993 and with a 105 gruppo that looks to be in good condition. You did WHAT to the rear triangle?!?!

haha lol. I actually like the tape. and its too expensive for me to replace again! Whats wrong with the position of my handlebars? I've been comfortable with them the way they are for a month or so now. Though actually it might be slightly different as that picture was taken soon after i purchased it and replaced the tape. The groupo was in practically new condition as the previous owner barely put any km's on it. And whats wrong with wrapping the rear triangle in tape! lol it looks better black than green.

As for the year, im not exactly sure, this is the only link that ive been able to find, but the specs somewhat vary
https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...tion&Type=bike

Also, for accuracy's sake, here's a pic of the bike in its current state.

Spot on! Directions because I wanted to do some climbing so I wrote down the road numbers and the names of some villages because they are off the main roads.

Try them in a position like this. It is more common, better aesthetics and generally seen as more comfortable...

Here's the latest iteration of my bike. Lowered the stem 15mm, changed from a 10 to 6 degree stem, cut fork, and my wife bought me race wheels.

Added white bartape to my Giant to go with the white saddle. Something looks off, can anyone else spot it? I sure can't.

And I also finished my Serotta backup/backup race bike. Yes, that's a downtube shifter you see. I figured I'd do something I've always wanted, and scratch the left STI for a DT lever.

::EDIT:: I just noticed how huge a difference there is between the two bikes in size. The Giant is a Small with a 110 stem and the saddle all the way back on the rails, and the Serotta is a square 55 cm with a 120 stem and the saddle all the way back.

Also my TT bike in race trim. I've got the extensions set at their widest (90mm from center of bar) and the arm pads are also at their widest. It works for me. I've tried narrow, I've tried the Landis, none of it feels that great.
The seat is some OEM saddle we took off of a new BMX bike, it's cheap, wide at the front, well padded, and is short enough to bring me back to 5 cm behind the BB center, but not too short so that it's UCI illegal.
