Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's a great looking ride there! I was just wondering about the shifters & derailleurs. Is there a particular reason or advantage with your setup vs. the usual stuff? Just curious....

looks great. i had decided on getting a tsunami for my next frame after reading SDC rave about it. but his weird geometry just wasn't selling me on the looks, but wow, i really like yours.

Price. $220 or so for the 3 piece group. Lighter than Ultegra 6700 if that's important.

Well with custom you can do whatever you like.... his is weird - mine's a bit more traditional based on some *cough* more common race frame geometries

Love the bar tape and saddle. Great mix of old (saddle, bartape), new (carbon), and somewhere in the middle (ti).

Thanks for the info, I think i'll be taking a ride to target to pick one up. Doesn't hurt that it matches the furniture.

Plus if you don't like they'll take it back. It's nto the sturdiest one out there but unless you're really ramming into the bike it should be ok.

Cannondale Six 5. Almost done just waiting for the Thomson stem and possibly getting a new wheelset. Crappy iPhone picture.

I just picked this up. 201 Scattante CFR Race. Love the bikes its ~10 lb's less then the one I was riding and is just amazing. Its my first new bike ever.

So hopefully the picture works. I am going to build out a set of American Classic 420's, and add a composite headstem and it should be right on the legal limit in a 58 size frame. Wish is exactly what I wanted. Its a stock photo.

Unfortunately my Softride is now fully dead, I have a replacement beam but destroyed the wheel-set completely, the bottom bracket is dead and everything else has 15K+ mileage. I am going to sell off the frame, extra beam and the back gearing to get some cash back but its amazing how far bikes have come in the last 10 years. Carbon now is nothing like the older stuff I raced on.

That Scattante CFR Race looks a lot like the Cervelo R3 (which is not a bad thing) with the "squoval" tubes and the thin seat stays. They probably come from the same factory anyways. Enjoy the ride

For the people that asked about my "kickstand"

A couple people asked what "kickstand" I was using to hold my bike up for the picture. Well, it's not a kickstand it's a mini tripod (as some have mentioned).

It's a Slik Mini Tripod w/ Pan & Tilt that I bought a few of for $20. I use them to hold a couple of my flash units when doing off camera flash. Here's what it looks like...
