Worst Colnago Ever?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

They just aren't canvases, are they?

Edit: Oh, well DONE Sir Robin! An adjustable stem and trainer wheels and there'd be no disputing your submission!

The new Arte in brown is FUGLY....also the one DrPete nominated is FUGLY...in person the Italian flag colors on the bike are overkill!

The sunflower frame must be at premium price, since they have to pay Graham Watson for his photo.

Really, how could it get worse in person?

I think it would look decent with a set of Black Carbon wheels like Lightweights or Lew's

I agree it might look better with different wheels....the LBS just has the frame hanging so I haven't seen it built up yet

It could get worse in person if a certain 400 watt dial-upper dropped you on your favourite hill whilst riding it. For just a second I channelled the matching kit.

My personal take.

Italian paint job- WOW!!! Fantastic.

Sunflowers- Artistic, but someone was smokin' somethin'. Maybe leftover from the 60's.

The Psycho thing- Well, it looks more like a box of Good N' Plenty.

It doesn't suck.

You've posted the equivalent of a Ferrari with a ratty nose-bra and a cheesy set of rims... it may look bad, but swap out a few things and it's hot.

Give me an hour alone with that bike and well under 500 bucks- I could turn it into a nominee for the sexiest bike thread.

I race against some guy who has an art frame just like robin of cocksley's WINNER. i never wanted to embarrass him by asking where he had it painted, but now I know it's a 'genuine original'... errr. I don't have to embarrass myself by asking now.

anyway, none of these colnagos are as ugly as mine. at least i ride it every day.

It is obvious that the paint/design dept. at Colnago Inc. clearly amuses themselves by huffing metallic spray-paint all day. Their paint schemes are proof positive.

However, what's really UGLY are Shimano groupsets on ANY Colnago.

Ernesto is such a ****. They guy will do anything to sell more of them.

My Colnago CT 1 has the words "COLNAGO" on it no less than 13 times. Enough already! Some decals are in yellow on a blue and silver sceame. Are these guys are color blind at the factory? I used black electrical tape to tone it down. After riding my brothers Lightspeed (the one with the 'bat wings") I would say the CT 1 is not the BEST bike. It is true about the fact they can look really good as well as really bad.

I saw one of these at R&A, I think. The graphics are completely blurry and pixelated... enough to make a designer like me hang his head in shame. I won't even appraoch Colnago's complete lack of aesthetic sensibility on this one, but I would have expected that the technical execution be worthy of the brand.

As for that original post, the *only* thing "ugly" about the bike is the way the owner set it up. Has nothing to do with how it rolled out of the factory, IMO. Technically speaking, I could make my Tarmac equally as "ugly", but it's not.

Are those bars the same integrated stem/bars that Rad's Trek looks so good with?
