Help on determining avg speed?
 

Whats the formula, like how do you figure out what your avg speed was, say i did 14 miles in 46 minutes, what was my avg speed, thanks!

Average speed is kinda "one of those topics" around here, but here's a quick way to get it from the numbers you gave:

46 minutes / 60 minutes per hour ~= .77 hours

14 miles / .77 hours = 18.1 mph

average speed = distance in miles divided by time in hours.

14/.77 = 18.18mph (46 minutes is .76666666666 of an hour)

Buy a computer man !! :) but anyways you speed should be around 17 mph.

I'm 26, Ive been out of college for 2 years and I changed my major to Criminal Justice and now work in Insurance, I have no need for that kind of math anymore :D

Here's a hint for the future...even if you don't know math, Google is your friend...I assume since you posted here you still recall the basics of computers and the internet..right?

My daughter is 3. Okay, 3 years and 4 months. Anyway my wife is an accountant and I asked her what mommy does. She said "1, 2 and 3 and 4". Let me check - damn, she said 18mph. But then again she hasn't learned fractions yet.

I hate math. I just look at the computer.
