I've used the lemon-lime stuff (green). I'd say it does an OK job of keeping me going when I'm on the road. It's maybe not the best tasting stuff in the world, but if you're thirsty enough it can be pretty bad and still taste good.
1 thing it does do for me is clean the pipes. I've got a pretty solid constitution, but after a longer ride drinking Accelerade I get home and hit the toliet RIGHT F'N NOW!!!
I don't know what it is about that stuff, but it is not the gentlest date.

I bought some accelerade(fruit punch) for the century I did last weekend. It tasted so bad in comparison with regular gatorade(red). I'm a fan of Powerade my body gets by just fine on simple sugars, salt, good taste and cheap prices. Powerade has a little more potassium than Gatorade and taste a little better. I think I will just mix one scoop Gatorade and one scoop Accelerade in my bottles till the Accelerade is gone so I don't feel like I wasted $20.

I like the Vitamin waters...the Power-C one seems to work well for me and if you dilute it down about 3/4 vitamin water and 1/4 water it goes down nice...and it tastes awesome i think.

My 3 and 1 year olds were sick a couple weeks ago. I got them some Pedialyte, but they didn't drink much of it. Well, just to get it out of the fridge, I stuck it in my bottles yesterday.
It has a sweet/salty taste (grape) that is OK. Nothing great. I didn't really feel all that great during the ride, but turned in one of my fastest times ever for my 'normal' loop that I ride (21 miles in just barely over an hour, 20.5 avg, fast for me).
I was thinking about this thread and wondered if anyone else had tried Pedialyte. It might be a pretty good call, especially thinned down about 1/2 and 1/2 with water.
P.S. Don't buy purple drinks for kids that are throwing up. Clear is a much better choice.
