Have a search next time.
Rear light recommendations please!
tail light comparison
And there have been many more in the past.
Short answer PlanetBike Superflash seems to be the best unless you have the money to stretch for a Dinotte light.

I have the $5 LED blinking rear light, but don't rely on just one. Deck your bike out with them. I slap two on my seatpost and another on my messenger bag. If people can't see that, no individual tail light will save me.

I dont know about prices at your side of the pond but here; LD1000's are about the most expensive rear LED light you can get. Atleast from a mainstream but quality brand like Cateye. I have read some reviews on them and alot of people found them heavy, not that weather proof at all and dissapointing. I own one Cateye TL-LD600 which I have found to last well past its rated time, resisted heavy, monsoon like rain (!) and be reasnably bright. I intended to get anouther 1 or 2 and mount them as close to each other possible to make a large, 15 LED area; almost comparable in conspicuousness as that you see on recent motorbike models that use thick bands of LED's. The only lacking area is sideways visability.

Yeah, the LD1000 used to be pretty expensive, but nowdays it's $30 over on www.nashbar.com.
It is kinda heavy and i can't comment much on the water resistance, but it goes on my commuter (which is already heavy to begin with) and has 4 LEDs pointed laterally, something most all other tail lights lack.

Dinotte Tail Light is the best but costly, but worth it when it comes to safety

Yes, the Cateye LD 1000 is a very good tail light.

I took it apart, let it dry (it wasn't terribly wet inside) and its as if nothing happened.
Here it is as I pulled it out of the wash.

Barely any moisture inside.
The Blue light is a Knog Frog that I use for sex lighting
It looks really cool, and lets you see your gears, should you want to, but it's more for the look. On a recent club night ride, almost everyone commented how sexy the light looked and how they like it.

You Know it!

That is an awesome light, and most times for my eveing road rides that could turn dark, that is all I use. I pull out the Super Flash for Night rides and my winter commutes.

The side lighting the SF throws is adequate enough. Bang for buck it's top of the list.

Sigh. I mention this everytime tail-light comparisons show up on BF. An www.allelectronics.com Xenon strobe light unit conected to your headlight battery or with its own battery pack can give you rapid, eye-searing flashes for $10-$20. It just does not look like one of the stock bike tail lights but I would rather be Fred then Dead. Since I got a Radio Shack Xenon strobe tail-light nearly 20 years ago no club I go on night rides with will let me be any where but last in the group or pace line.
