Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

XLR8R frames?

Are there any frame builders that use the XLR8R component set?

I'm confused. Isn't XLR8R a bike? It has readily available mainstream components. So, every frame builder builds bikes with XLR8R components, right?

It is a set of carbon fiber tubes, made by Columbus, from which to construct a frame.

If it is the name of a bike, the builder presumably licensed the trademark from Columbus, and that particular frame probably uses the Columbus bits.

XLR8R5

COLUMBUS Carbon XLR8R Max

Full Carbon frame made with wrapped oriented ellipse shaped tube set, Columbus XLR8R MAX (Double Oval Concept) for an excellent stiffness/weight ratio.

[EDIT] Actually, they appear to make two - the Estrada is also one of these.

Thanks - I now understand the error of my ways.

XLR8R is offered in both C and Al (which I must have forgotten). It is the Kit Mecano that is C only, and was what I really meant to ask about in the OP.
