Campy vs. Shmano vs. SRAM - weight/cost graph

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The fact that all of this is completely over my head is why I majored in art at NYU and not pre-med.

Could that be why Centaur is sold out so often?

This thread makes me think of the following graph.
Whose data, coincidentally, is equally important to the act of riding a bike as that in the OP.

And that's why you can't afford a good bike and must ride a Cervelo with Ultegra.

That's probably because this thread is full of useless and misleading information. Which is the BF norm, I guess

Ribble and Shiny Bikes both have lower prices on Campy groups.

https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/groups..._GS&type=RIBMO

I've been using Campy since 1995 and never had to pay a lot more for it than Shimano. Current prices from the UK are lower than the best US sources have been in the last several years.

Centaur representing! It is even cheaper on ribblecycles.co.uk. Sometimes I wonder what non-cyclists think when they read the logo on my ergo levers.

One thing that is not at all acknowledged by this info is intangible stuff like shift quality.

edit: damn it DaveSSS, you beat me.

Goofy thread, but...
Bike shops around here beat Ribble.
Don't know about delivery, but you could always call them. They speak English.
Visitors here on holiday can claim back up to 19% of that listed price.
eg. 2010 CAMPAGNOLO SUPER RECORD 11 SPEED [carbon] BIJ DE VOS €1350 (1197 pounds or $1824)
.. and that's before claiming your tax back.
