Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

PSA: Tour of Missouri on VS

It's on at 3 PM Central time on VS.

Here's a picture I took of Hincapie signing autographs before starting stage 5 in Jefferson City.

I wish VS covered cycling events BEFORE they were over. Of course I will watch (thanX for the heads-up!), but it kind of takes the fun out of watching a sporting event, no?

Man, who came up with the appearance money to get all those guys to Missouri?! I mean . . . compared to KANSAS, I'm sure Missouri makes for some prime cycling topography, but would ANYONE outside Missouri pick it as a pro race venue???

Oh, well. A race is a race.

Hold on, now! There's a Tour of Missouri "King of the Mountains" jersey??? ROFL

What? Where they afraid of some kind of trademark infringement if they called it "King of the Hill(s)"?

That guy wiping out at the end, it was fairly spectacular. All in all, looks like a well received race and the coverage wasn't half bad.
