My UMaine Jerseys dont match any of my bikes, but I still love wearing them. They are really flimsy too, so I have to wear thermals under them, but w/e.

My jersey chose me (I wear the jersey of the team I am on whenever I ride). I did however buy a blue jersey that says "SCOTLAND" on it. I bought it in Scotland.
I would buy for price as long as the color is ok.

1. visit sierratradingpost.com
2. poke around for a bit to find a jersey (or whatever else it is that i might be looking for at the time) that seems to be a good deal
3. find coupon
4. complete the order
5. hope it fits when i get it

I'm a guy who likes shorts and a t shirt. Except summer then its just shorts. When I start riding with groups I'll have to wear a jersey I'm guessing to look like one of the crowd rather than that guy.

Price - I like sale items but would gladly buy the full price item if its a Nalini or a Descente quality jersey/bib/knicks
Fit - usually my size is missing on sales racks he he he he
Quality - its not enough that its affordable, its should last quite long otherwise its false economy

I only wear my club jerseys. I'm collecting a whole wardrobe of them.
I used to like wearing my disco jersey, but now being a member of my cycling club, it just seems so much cooler to be wearing my club colours for training and racing.

Lately, all I've been getting are event or club jerseys for events I do and clubs I'm associated with ... and I've got enough of them to last me for years!
I'm thinking, and I think I got 5 this year
1 Alberta Randonneurs
1 Canadian Randonneurs
2 Australian Randonneurs
1 Paris-Brest-Paris
I think that's it.

I don't like team jersey's unless it's a team/club/organization I'm actually a part of. I like the plain solid color jersey's from MEC (like REI but in Canada).
This is my club's jersey:

As has been stated price is often a big factor, as is zip length. But I splurged and bought the primal wear AC~DC jersey, haha black and yellow with a big cannon on it, gotta love it. OH and for me visibility was important, wanted bright colors that MIGHT help idiot motorists notice me, the AC~DC jersey is yellow and black and my other jersey is solid red. noticeable colors. Yes people will give you crap about the jersey you wear, especially here on BF, ignore em. it's the internet... you could always have fun with it and buy a yellow jersey just to piss people off. JUST KIDDING!

Look is the first criteria, meaning no team kits or company logos that I'm not getting paid to wear. That covers the first peruse of the rack. Next up is the important stuff- fit and function. I have to like the material, it has to fit well and it has to have a full zipper and good pockets. Last is price- after I go through that procedure I inevitably end up with the most expensive jersey on the rack, but if I can afford it I go for it because good clothing is usually worth the money IMO. If it's just too much, then I either don't buy, or try to find a cheaper compromise.
