Do you have more than one set of wheels for different riding conditions?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Do you have more than one set of wheels for different riding conditions?

I just purchased a set of Mavic Esyrium ES wheels and I’m thinking about using them mostly for weekend training on better road conditions while keeping my Mavic Equipe wheels and using them for everyday commuting. I only have one bike (Specialized Tarmac) at the moment so it currently needs to server both purposes.

I guess this is a question for the non-racing guys since I would think they normally have more than one set of wheels.

I have 2 sets of wheels for each of my bikes.
The tubulars wheels are for nice roads, while the clincher wheels are for winter riding or crappy roads.

It is always a good idea to have a second set of wheels. If something goes wrong with one set you can ride the other while the broken set get repaired.

One set with 36 3x, heavy wide rims, one set of mixed hubs with open pro rims. The first has crossesque 35s on it, for use on fire road stuff, and for later use with studded tires in the winter, the other has skinny tires on it.

All conditions and circumstances are covered with a slight change in brake adjustment.

I keep a set of tubulars for racing, clinchers for racing where carbon is not suited and a couple sets of training wheels(1 set/bike,3 total) for daily use.

I'm in a similar situation; my plan is to use
Ksyrium ES/Conti Gatorskins for better road conditions
Aksium/Conti GP 4 season for rain/winter

Mavic Open Pro/Record with 13-26 cassette for every day and skinny or fat tires - depending on the frame I'm riding. Neutrons with 13-29 cassette for longer rides and more hills.

Those new wheels are fine for all riding. I'm got a three year old set of Ksyriums that I ride everyday and they are bulletproof. I've hit big potholes and all sorts of debris is the near darkness without ever having to true them. Switching wheels frequently can be a pain.

Best reason is to have a bombproof set of tires and tubes on your commuter, and racing tires with latex tubes on your nice wheels.

I have many kinds of road wheels of different designs with different tires, for different uses. They are attached to bikes.

rruff, I have Conti 4000 on my Mavic Equipe wheels but what racing tires and tubes would you suggest for the Mavic ES wheels? I know my ES wheels probably aren’t high end racing wheels like Zipps but I'll get there some day.
