anyone else have problems using a capital one credit card with probikekit.com?
i was this || close to getting the final parts ordered for my bianchi build project but apparently capital one credit accounts don't play nice with probikekit.com.
i entered my info during checkout three different times and it was declined each time (yes, my account is in good standing).
i just called capital one and after finally getting someone on the line, they asked me a series of verification questions mostly relating to cars i've owned (year, model, license tag numbers, etc). well, after ten or so security/verification questions, they tell me that some of my answers were wrong and that i would need to fax them three pieces of identification in order to proceed with the charge. i told them to forget it and just hung up since i had been on the phone long enough as it was and i don't have convenient access to a fax machine.
i've purchased from pbk before using a different credit card and everything went through smooth as silk.
but anyway, i'll quit my whining. anyone else ever experience the same thing?

I think I Chase declined my first attempt to buy there once because it was out of the country. But they questioned charges I made in Frisco too so they were just looking out for me. I appreciated it.

well, the capital one fraud department just called me about the "suspicious activity" (the three charge attempts). i've had that happen before on some big ticket purchases i've made so kudos to them for making the effort to make sure it wasn't fraudulent activity.
i ended up just putting the purchase on a chase credit card and it went through without a hitch. oh well, i guess capital one loses out on all that extra interest they could've been collecting from me for some time to come.
PS - all parts have now been purchased for my build project. WOOP WOOP!!

Yes, this happened to me about 4 months ago...
But they never called and shutdown my card...
Kinda hard to put gas in your car and embarrassing when you try to buy something in the grocery store...
Capital One is still in my dog house...

Strange. Send me the number, expiration date, and security code and I'll test it out for you.

you need to call Capital One if you're trying to purchase outside the country. That's what I did when I've used the card purchasing parts from PBK. Takes a few minutes do it. and you're all set.

Capital One commercial = at least we know Probikekit is not in their wallet.
On my CC I use for online purchases, I got a bogus charge at the end of Nov. for $2600 from some font company in the UK. The only place I have ordered from in the UK was Probikekit. Sure hope the crooks didn't get my CC info from Probikekit.

Lat month I used my capital one card at PBK with no problems, but I have heard of card companies not allowing charges to go through if they are "unusual."
A friend of mine had his Amoco gas card shut off when he was on vacation because of a sudden increase in out of state charges.

I had the same problem with my wells fargo check/visa card yesterday. Three tries, all with the right info, all rejected (with plenty of money in my account). I ended up putting it all on a wells fargo visa credit card and it got accepted the first time.

One night I went to the cygolite website and ordered a lightbulb. We have a PO box and a street address. Most of our cards go to the PO box but I forgot that our Capitol One card did not. I entered the information three times and was declined before I remembered that the card was at our street address.
Anyway, the next day, Capitol One called my wife and asked her about the charge. She had never heard of Cygolite and since the charge was very late at night, she cancelled the card number, not knowing that it was me who made the charge.

I ordered something on line via credit card domestically, and had the card shut down because of the way they completed the transaction. Apparently, the 3 digit code on the back was needed for the way they were submitting it, but their website did not have a field to enter it into.
They tried the transaction 3 times, and this caused my institution to shut down the card. I was doing this at work, and my wife called me like 3 minutes later stating that the credit union called to let us know there was activity on the card causing it to shut down.
I called the credit union back and had to go through the authentication process too to get it re-instated. I appreciate the speed and manner in which they handled the situation.
