Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Very sad news. He was very helpful poster here and I've used his website as reference material many times when I needed to find good information.

That's a shame. I've been in Harris Cyclery a few times, and all the folks there are great. They, and his family, must be taking this hard.

MISTER Bicycles will be very sorely missed

Sheldon Brown was the gentleman scholar of the cycling world.

That's too bad. I've learned a lot reading his bike articles. All bikers owe him a debt of gratitude.

Wow. What a loss to the cycling community. I hope his family knows how many people he's helped worldwide.

That's terrible; like burning down a library. The cycling community have lost the ultimate "in it for the right reasons" bike guy. Sincerest condolences to his family.

Sheldon was the best among us. The last thing the world needs right now is to lose another good man. While we mourn him, we should also celebrate his life. How many of us will live and die so well?
