666 - The mark of the devil.

....and it's red.

Hickeydog 02-10-08 09:31 AM

Why?

I think they would look pretty good on one of my SL1's. :D

SushiJoe 02-10-08 10:15 AM

They'd also look good on my Orbea Opal, which, judging by the picture, does not have enough Red on it yet! :D I guess I'll make do with my 0G-07 Ti set

FWIW - Scholars also do not think that 666 is really the mark of the devil; it's more of a pop-culture reference at this point [not to delve to much into religion and what not].

PhatRoadie 02-10-08 10:31 AM

I like it.

Can't afford it, but that's another story.

Yes, but are they lighter?

(66.6 grams, each?)

GuitarWizard 02-10-08 11:53 AM

"Limit 2 per customer".

Yeah, ok....$1,300 for 2 sets of calipers. Now there's a great deal we all should jump on.

My bicycle is Safety Yellow, wouldn't work at all.

late 02-10-08 01:12 PM

Do they make a long reach version?:D

Tequila Joe 02-10-08 01:14 PM

Me likey! However, I'm a working class schlep and can't afford them. :(

Hocam 02-10-08 01:15 PM

Considering there are plenty of people on this forum with $1,000 "beater" wheels, I'm sure they're going to sell plenty.

probably because you like to stop when you hit the brakes.

I've never understood the weight obsession, particularly with a component that I'd trade heft for knowing it'll actually work when I desperately need it to.

+1

Having used some crappy non weight-weenie brakes that have gotten me into trouble more than once, I don't understand why someone would compromise stopping power for such a tiny weight saving.

It really does come down to the fact that there are two types of cyclist. Those that ride their bikes to get fitter and faster, and those who buy bicycles to pose with at the local cafe. I'll take fitness and cycling "ability" over "bling" and fancy bicycle parts any day of the week.
