Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Swapping Chainrings: Will this work?

Just a quick question. I've got a triple FSA Omegra crankset that came stock with my bike. To keep with junior regulations I could swap out the largest 50 chainring for a 45. I found a 45 chainring but it's bmx, so this a will it work question.

I have

I found

The rocket ring is a BMX ring and will it fit on the crank? I'm worried about how it will work with 10 speed. Thanks!

It says 'yes it will work' on the page. The chainrings have tall teeth to keep the chain from falling off, so you can expect degraded shifting performance.

Just be sure to get the proper BCD size. https://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_bo-z.html#bcd

That isn't my question.

I think I'm going to go with this

That should work, but if not, please let me know.
