Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

oh no! san diego, CA is just too hot!

For the first time in 2009, it is way too hot for me to ride.
95-degrees outside. Went for a ride and I'm baked!
Might as well just hit up a beach or something, what a ripoff.

Rest of the week should be ok with averages of 70-degrees.

Yes. It's just too darn hot. My wife is trying to get me to mow the lawn and ten other chores. But if it's too hot to cycle, it's obviously too hot to work around the house!

I thought that California was only 3 hours behind in time, they must be 9 months ahead.

The stuff you guys in San Diego have to go through. Perfect temps 350 days a year, Beautiful water. Yep, time to pack it up and move to Des Moines.

I have to point out here that hitting the beach may not be quite the alternative you're seeking at the moment....

Hey, the most famous series of shark attacks in my home state took place in what was basically a creek....

Just joking anyway....but jeez, dynamic, we think nothing of riding when it's in the 90's here in Washingotn...because we get a lot of it and of course it comes with 90 per cent humidity...heck, we even have winter here. What am I doing on the east coast anyway?

The seabreeze made it OK around OC on PCH. I do think I'll avoid the Newport Back Bay tho, that loop is crazy hot some days.

Just go out at 6 or 7am -- seriously, the weather will be better and the roads quieter (at least on the weekends)

Dude, heat has nothing to do with your tan. It could have been 45 degrees and you'd still have that lovely little tan circle. Sunblock is your friend if you are worried about it.
