Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The wind + single speed = no fun either way. The gusts are the worst, I have no desire to be pulled/pushed into traffic. Thank goodness for prevailing winds that usually give me a tailwind on the way home.

"Machka; You gotta learn sooner or later. "

No, no we don't.

Not because we can't; because we are too stupidly stubborn and US centric. Besides, England still uses miles instead of km, so we are not completely alone. Yet.

Been riding on shorts for a while now.

Crap! tomorrow's club ride will be about 70 miles with nearly 3,000 ft climb in a expected 100 degree weather maybe a tad higher.

How do like them apples

68F degrees, finally! this weekend's headed for the 80's.

p.s. i use metric even though i live in the us - it's the randonneur way!
